                                                                       Good Morning, Ripplemakers

THE MAN OF HONOR
By,

Allison Riveros

There he sits alone in a box.  Do you see him? Everyday he watches you as you pass him by and don't even realize he's there.  He was there when you parked your car to buy some milk at the grocery store.  He was there when you dined with the executives from 111 Datran. You never even turned your head.

When he put out his hand to ask you for what was left over from the milk you bought earlier that day. You pretended he did not exist. You want to believe he is not there.  Yet everyday he's there and you don't care to ask him how his day was.

The pain he feels from his chapped lips as you sip your iced tea with a spearmint leaf.  You ask the waitress to return for that is not the tea you ordered, it was the peach with a half the ice and not one more.

Tuesday's special Herb crusted  Mahi Mahi with green beans almandine.  The almandine you did not like was lunch and dinner for him that night.

Rolls for breakfast, hard but good.  Sesame, garlic coated with gravy and something else that strange in taste yet what a feast we have today.

Fear he does not feel you see for he has no worries from day to day.  Yet you so proud, so strong, so glad have more worry and  fear you're going mad.

The pressure high and hot today for Europe awaits a vacation in May. Jessie's getting married and College steps away for Mark. You can't sell your house in The Hamptons and cannot figure it out.

There he sits alone in a box.  Do you see him? Everyday he watches you as you pass him by and his only wish is that you would stay awhile.  Ask him how he got there? Accept the honor in humility.  Look within the deep brown eyes and see yourself hidden in the soul of this man that is no different from you. He was there when you parked your car and you never even raised a brow.

THE MAGICAL CLASSROOM:

What a tribute not only to teachers, but to dogs and how they play into the scheme of our lives.
Thanks
