Make a Ripple - Make a Difference

Greetings, Ripplemakers

RAINBOW BRIDGE GANG - BRIDGETTE
By,
Bill Walker

We were all sitting hear abouts after lunch, talking about many things, well you know we got lots to talk about.  We got people from all over the world here at the bridge.  That is us little people, the ones with real fur, and a ever loving heart.  When up the lane came this beautiful Golden, well we woofed her over to our group.  We have so many of these beautiful Goldens now.  Hope they don't demand a vote as who is president of the club, Buttercup might have to step down to last vice president.

Well we found out her name is Bridgette Stevens from Tennessee.  Poo at once piped up Tennessee, isn't that the state we traveled through one time, Tink?  I asked him what state didn't we travel through?   Well any ways we got through the small talk.

One of the Angels got Bridgette a blanket and a bed and the bowls filled with nice cool water and food. And then we got more information.  Now Bridgette had a real good home, she had loving care, and was one of the family, she was in her 9 years of age.  Now age here as you know means nothing, we all are young and full of pep like  puppy days.  Our earth hurt, sickness days is not here, we left all that stuff, just like the big people does when they get called home to Heaven.

She said her Pauline took such good care of her.  The daily walks, runs, and rolling in the yard, oh the joys they had together.  The little things, oh what fun she had, and she knows she was loved, just so much love in that home.  And Clover, Ellie and Bruce, oh those guys was quite some cut ups also.  It was a home like none other.  Pauline was in the save the Goldens deal.. Ever once in a while she made a trip to get one and find a home for them.  That meant another house guest for a while. Bridgette was at first one of those, but she became family.

Well we know all about a Dollie,  Angela,  in Texas that is on the same deal for Collies.  She got a house full, some is called Mine, others is Foster, after a bit their all Mine. Ask Peaches and Bella.

Then there is a Dollie, Carol, in Missouri that had a house full of Pekes. You remember that mob Poo?? I think that time we stopped by she had nine all in a row, like a train going in and out the door to the back yard.

By this time it was supper time and we was still talking,  well she was anyways.  It is always nice to get a newcomer to the gang and we just know we are going to get more talk on things in Tennessee. Lets see we got Goldens  now from a whole bunch of states, don't think there are any from Texas,  maybe we better recheck the computer, might be one. You know we got little people here from every where.  Sometimes a few wonder off looking the sights over and they get talking to other gangs,  then  they come back telling new stories.

You know it is just a grand time we have here, well there is a bit of sad minutes.  We get some of those that really had no good home like Bridgette.  Those get special treatment,  their short life on earth was the pits so to speak. The real sad thing here is missing you,  but we know someday you too will come up the lane, and Bridgette and others will perk up and run to greet you, tail waving in the air, and all that happy barking  Oh what a wonderful day that will be.

What's the movie tonight?  Why it is,  Bridgette The Golden Comes Home.  We got treats, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, and cookies to munch on. And Bridgette has a front row seat.   Gus, Missy, Rowdy, and all the other Goldens will make sure of that.  Like we said, that is getting to be quite a mob,  sure hope they don't demand a recount on the vote as to who is third vice president. Wonder if we got that chad stuff yet? Poo said he didn't think so...that's just in Florida, and this is Heaven you know.

So Pauline.  Your Bridgette is here, all young, full of life, just waiting like the good puppy she was with you. Waiting for the day you will come up the lane.  She like all the others, is watching, the lane. No one is going to steal the lane, it is watched day and night.  Don't stand by the grave and weep too many tears, she is not there, she is here.  But once in a while she may return in your dreams to make sure all is well.
