When was the last time you sat down and
wrote a letter? I do not mean an e-mail, a birthday card, or a
holiday postcard—I mean an actual letter. There is something special
about a personal hand written letter. Think back to the last time
you received one. How did it make you feel? Pretty good I bet. So,
by the weekend I would love everyone reading these words to set
aside a few minutes in their hectic life. Maybe grab a cup of tea or
coffee and sit down and write. Maybe write to an old friend, a
relative, or maybe even to your loved one. I am sure there is quite
a list of people who you would like to receive a letter one. So why
don't you make the first move? As I have a funny feeling that if you
do, it will be contagious and the person receiving it will write
back—or write to someone else. Can you imagine how cool that would
be to receive one or two hand written letters a week in amongst
those bills, advertisements and junk mailers? I know we live in a
high-tech age where we can send an email or fax to anywhere in the
world in under twelve seconds. A world where you can call the other
side of it for under 99 cents a minute, but a letter is something,
well special.
How many of us have a pile of old letters
stashed away from our first love?
Do you think that a pile of emails would
be so romantic? I think not.
So. Who are you going to write to first?
