It the New
Testament of the Holy Bible,
there are words on this, The Comforter. God sent his son Jesus
to bring us home someday. Jesus in turn, told us, and sent to
us The Comforter. The
Comforter is like the wind. You don't see the wind, but the
wind is there. When you think about things, the Comforter is
like God. We don't see God. Now Jesus, we see no more of, but
there was a time he walked among us. But God and the Comforter
we see not, nor ever did, they are like the wind.
Jesus told us when he was here and
in many places in the Bible about the Comforter. I was thinking
about one place on this:
John chapter 16. Read from about
verse 5 and the following verses for a ways.
Verse 8. And when he is come, he
will reprove the world of sin. and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
When a silversmith takes silver and
heats it to the melting point and works it, he takes out what is
not silver, leaving the pure silver.
This is what is meant here in this
verse. The Comforter comes, he takes what is not pure, and he
works with what he finds. Heating, and melting, till he has
pure.
Reprove, is refining of you. You
and I he finds not pure, so he works with what he has. This is
why the road to Heaven is not always smooth. We are getting the
Reprove, or Refining. You and I will be like fine pure silver,
when the Comforter is done. That is if you and I allow him to
do his work.
He is the one, that little voice
that says no, when you or I think about some sin that we might
like to do. He says no, He is doing the Reprove work. Refining
that is. Now if you or I still do something he said no to, well
we will just get put back in the fire a bit longer, got to have
pure you know.
Now we know no matter what, we will
never be pure. But the Comforter will keep on working best he
can with what he has. We may never make it to being 99 and 44
of a 100% pure, but if we give him a chance we might make it
close.
Remember this is what Jesus came
for, he knew we was on the short comings, so he took our place
and paid the price. But he sent The Comforter to be with us.
While I am thinking about our
place. Remember if someone took your place to park your mule at
church, if someone took your back row seat in the pew at
church. Remember Jesus took your place, and paid the price for
your sins. Hold your hand out, and say, “Hello Stranger, nice to
see you." Maybe the next Sunday, they will no longer be a
stranger. Maybe the church picked up a new one to be Refined.
