Deuteronomy 6:3 says, ???Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe
to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that ye may
increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath
promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and
honey.??? Verses 4-9, continues and tells them they are to
teach His word to their offspring daily and write it on the
post of their houses and gates: just like He spoke His
words, without mar.
???Keep this great wonder of nature as it now is. Leave it as
it is. You cannot improve on it, not a bit. The ages have
been at work on it, and man can only mar it. What you can
do is keep it for your children, your children??™s children,
and for all who come after you, as the one great sight which
every American if he can travel at all, should see.???
President Theodore Roosevelt, 1903.
God??™s word is beautiful and awe inspiring just as the walls
at the Grand Canyon are. It is our duty to teach His word
to our children, without mar. Just as President Roosevelt
spoke these words in 1903, to leave this wonder as it is; so
are we to leave God??™s word just as He spoke it. We are to
take Him at His word, without mar, as the Bible says, and
teach it to our children so they can see the beauty of the
Master??™s word.
My husband and I just toured Arizona??™s Grand Canyon, one of
the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and as we viewed the
South rim??™s walls, their majesty and awe inspiring beauty
was breathtaking, electrifying, inspiring.
Later in our motel room, we pondered God??™s work of art.
Science tells us that erosion aided by the
Colorado River
and changes in weather conditions over the years, created
this masterpiece. The Bible tells us, God, in all His
splendor spoke, and it was so. We find in Genesis God spoke
and it was so. Peace settled over us like a blanket.
We had the most incredible vacation. We saw His canvas; we
felt His wind touch our face. We heard the flutter of birds
echo across the deep, we watched wildlife busy at play, and
we smelled His great perfume float below the clouds. We
thanked our Savior as we savored His creation, and really
realized??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦more will come.
The start of school is here and activities start fresh all
across America. Let us take God at His word, without mar,
and spread it around, fresh like the beginning of the new
school year. The beauty of His promise of eternal life lies
ahead of us with splendor, just like the beauty of the walls
at the Grand Canyon:
breathtaking??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦.........
electrifying??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦.........
inspiring??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦??¦............
truth.
