I found a nice tomato on the one lonesome tomato plant the
other day.
I see there will be more as the days
roll by. That is if things work out. It put me to thinking,
this one nice tomato did.
Someone started with a seed. I came
along and bought the plant, and set it out. I have gave the
plant a drink of water about every day. The plant grew.
After sometime it had some little flowers. Each flower,
after a few days, a little green thing showed up. The
little green thing grew bigger. After some days of this,
it started to turn red. I have a tomato for my bacon and
bread sandwich. Wonderful.
Now you say ???so what???? Well, have you
ever took the time to think how can this be? From a seed in
dirt, to a something you eat. From the soil, air and water,
the seed grew, and you get food.
If you stop and think, everything
depends on three things. Well, that is my Thinking, anyway.
I'm sure the college people will come up with much more. You
ask what is the three things? Dirt, air, and water. The
meat on your table came from dirt, air, and water. The cow
eats corn, grass, grows and ends up on your table.
So everything, starts with a seed, it
takes dirt, air and water to make. Come to think some
more. You and I came from a seed. The Bible says from dirt
you came, you will return to dirt some day.
I remember a story, years back. A
grave yard had to be moved. The workers were using machines
to go so far down. This one time the shovel dug too deep.
Hit a casket with a glass top. This worker said for a
minute he seen a most pretty little doll of a girl. The
glass cracked, all he seen was dirt.
I believe It says in that dusty Bible.
In the beginning, there was nothing. God, the first things
he made was dirt, air, and water. With out those three
things we can't live. He then made all living things from
dirt, air, and water.
For my joke. Got to have one of them
things you know.. One day a smart college brain told God,
we no longer needed him. We was smart now, we could make
man. God said fine show him how. The college person
reached down to get some dirt. God says none of that, get
your own dirt.
It comes to me I have read, something
the Native Americans says. You know the Indian. Everything
had a soul. Even the blade of grass. You know they may be
right. Stop and think about that one for a minute. In the
late fall the grass takes a nap starting about then. In
the spring it comes to life again. I guess that is why the
Indian tried to take care of the land, the air, and the
water. They only took what was needed to live. The white man
came along and messed up the land, the air, and the water.
