Sir Froggie??™s Pondering

COMPLY WITH COMPASSION

Have you ever felt an urge or prompting to do something that would help someone out?   Or experienced a longing in your soul to take action on behalf of another living being?

Comply with compassion.

What exactly is compassion?  It can be many things??¦ sympathy, empathy, concern, kindness, consideration or caring.  At its root is love.  Love for another living being.   Love for one of God??™s many creations.  Love for humankind or even animal kind.  And love is a powerful thing.  It can move mountains??¦ Or at least human beings.  And those human beings can get the equipment, intelligence and motivation to move that mountain piece by piece.

That??™s how we improve our world??”piece by piece.  And prompting by prompting.

God works miracles in and through each of us.  When you feel something gnawing at your gut prompting you to take some sort of helpful action, that??™s God trying to work through you.  If you listen and hear the voice of truth telling you to do something it will resonate within you and it won??™t leave you alone until you either listen and comply or simply turn away and say ???NO, I??™m NOT going to!???  And if you choose the latter, don??™t be surprised if you get another opportunity to do what you were prompted to.

Each of us makes a difference.  That difference may be bigger than we ever realized or imagined possible.  Every day offers us the opportunity to have a positive effect if we??™ll just take it.

Tune in to what your heart tells you.  Listen to your compassion.  Is it telling you to send money to a charity or give your spare change to the homeless person on the street?  Is it urging you to donate your old clothes to a battered women??™s shelter?  Is it suggesting putting an extra dollar in the tip jar or volunteering your time to a good cause?  Does compassion tell you to go easy on the child who messes up or to forgive the spouse who lost track of time at work and forgot to call as promised?  Does it lead you to invite a senior neighbor in for dinner or to hold the door open for the person behind you?  Do you listen when compassion tells you to assist someone whose arms are full and needs help carrying a package?  Will you enact patience and kindness on the store clerk who seems to be bumbling badly or on the waitress whose had an off day and can??™t focus on your order because her boss just chewed her out?  Do you obey the prompting to call a friend or coworker out of the blue?  Can you let that person stuck trying to turn into traffic get in front of you?  Or take the time to tell those you care about that you love them?

Compassion speaks to us in many different ways.  It prompts us to act in a divine and loving manner, often in the most basic and simplistic of details.  The things we do out of compassion may seem small to us, but to the recipient they can make a big difference.  And when we act in large ways out of compassion miracles often ensue.

Comply with compassion.

Sir Froggie is the oldest living amphibian known to man. He is also a retired Knight who has fought off evil mosquitoes to save a friendly dragon from their vicious attack.

Sir Froggie has spent several hundred years on the planet observing human beings. He has extensive wisdom and knowledge which he shares to enlighten our spirits and encourage us to be the best possible people we can be.

In the 1980's, Sir Froggie met a young maiden who agreed to take on the task of ghost writing for him. (After several hundred years, his limbs were getting a little tired.) To keep Sir Froggie's thoughts and ponderings authentic, his ghost writer simply uses the initials JMP, as the gender of the writer did not seem as important as the messages Sir Froggie was trying to convey.
