Make a Ripple - Make a Difference

Greetings, Ripplemakers

Optimism is the Answer
by
Dorothy Casper

Do you see the glass as half full rather than half empty? Do you see your eye on the doughnut or do you only see the hole??  A fast growing research, 104 studies thus far, involving some 15,000,00 people is proving that OPTIMISM can help you to be happier, healthier and more successful.?  Pessimism leads, by contrast, to hopelessness, sickness and failure, and is linked to depression, loneliness and painful shyness.

???If we could teach people to think positively," says psychologist Craig. A. Anderson of Rice University in Houston, "It would be like inoculating them against these mental ills."

"Your abilities count," explains sphchologist Michael F. Scheier of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, "but the belief that you can succeed affects whether or not you will."

? ? ?  With a Pessimist when things go wrong he blames himself.?  "I'm just no good at this, I always fail, they don't like me etc.

? ? ? ?  How do see yourself??  Have you ever had a few good days when you looked in the mirror and really liked what you saw.?  When you have know exactly what you wanted and hot to get it and when you felt a glimmer of life is just great and you ask yourself if you shouldn't get he Perfect? Woman / Man of the Year award but then something happens, you are caught off guard and realize that it's no longer enough to know all the answers ??“ someone changed the questions.?  And you flounder??¦

? ? ?  I read a quote a few years ago, the author I have forgotten,?  "If we could each catch the vision of the man or woman God intended us to be we would rise up and never be the same again."?  I believe this to be so true. Really it is all about choices??¦In reality isn't that just what it is all about. We have our own free agency ??“ our choice.?  Eleanor Roosevelt stated, "no one can intimidate you without your permission."?  So lets begin Now ??“ Here !?  "Remember a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."?  (Chinese Proverb)

? ? ?  Paraphrasing Alan Stockdale's beautiful writings,?  "Did you know the Lord left the world unfinished??  He left it for man to work his skill upon it.?  He left the electricity in the clouds, the oil in the earth, the cities unbuilt.?  God gave to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things.?  He left the pictures unpainted, the songs unwritten the problems unsolved- that we might know the joy and glory of creation.?  He left the lessons unlearned, the abilities undeveloped and the challenges unsolved, abilities undeveloped and?  formidable tasks unmet, that we might learn and grow from the experiences of life.?  Now is the time to OPTIMISTICALLYgo forward??¦positively, knowing you can ??¦God Bless as you?  GO OPTIMISTICALLY AND BOLDLY forward - seeing the goodness of life.? ?
