Have you
ever heard of the new shoe store called FEET CITY? It's a
new HUGE shoe store that opened up in our are just days ago.
I have never laughed so hard in my life over a shoe store.
My husband about choked laughing over this one.
Here's
what happened: We decided to go to Sam's Club after work on
Thursday. Then off to K-Mart for a couple of things, then
out to our favorite Chinese Buffet for supper, Buffet City.
Buffet City has eight big bars to choose from with all kinds
of goodies.
We decided
to go to the stores first then back to the Chinese place.
We were on a heavily traveled road in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Hubby was driving. The Chinese place was on the other side
of the road. As we were passing where the Chinese place was
at, I noticed the big lit sign over their restaurant. It
said FEET CITY. I yelled to hubby, "Hey, they moved the
Chinese Restaurant, it's a shoe store now!"
He said,
"WHAT?"
I replied,
"Yep, it said Feet City, must be a shoe store in there now."
We were
both disappointed that our favorite place had closed up.
There is
another Chinese buffet not far from our favorite one, so we
decided we'd go there to eat after we were done in the
stores. While we were in that restaurant, my husband got a
phone call from a friend of ours, who also loves to eat at
the old Chinese Buffet. Hubby told him it had closed.
Our friend
said, "What? I just ate there Monday night."
My husband
told him, "Well, they moved out, and there's a big shoe
store in there now called Feet City.
Our friend
asked my husband how could they move all that equipment out,
get set up with a shoe store and be operating in a matter of
three days. Hubby replied, "Well, they must have worked
extra hard and brought a big crew in." Our friend was still
amazed, as we were that this huge Chinese buffet had closed,
packed up, moved out and then a shoe store set up and moved
in and was operating just three days later.
We
finished our meal and my hubby said we'd pull into the
parking lot of Feet City and see what all they had put in
there. So this time, we're on the other side of the road,
same side as the Chinese Buffet. We pulled into the parking
lot, and we both saw it at the same time.
The neon
sign that always says BUFFET CITY, had two letters unlit, so
it read FFET CITY. On the bottom of the second "F" was
something blocking the letter which made it look like an E.
So the
sign LOOKED like it read FEET CITY! And inside the windows,
we saw the Chinese people standing at the counter, and folks
lined up with plates to get their food from the buffet
tables. My husband began to laugh so hard he was pounding
the steering wheel and roaring in our van.
And I kept
saying to him, "What does that sign say? You tell me what
it says." And he agreed, it DID look like Feet City. And
he kept saying, "I knew they couldn't have moved all that
equipment out so fast, then a big shoe store come in, get
set up and open in three days time."
Our friend
was called back and informed that the new Shoe Store was
really not a shoe store, which dumbfounded him as my husband
explained about the neon letters missing making a Chinese
restaurant turn into a shoe store in a matter of 72 hours!
LOL Next time we go out to eat, I'm carrying a box of
DEPENDS in the van, hubby just might need them the way he
laughed his head off.
And then
he had the gall to say to me.......LOL........"You know what
this means, don't you?"
I replied
and glared at him, "No, TELL me what it means."
And he
said, "You can't read very well!"
I pulled
his hair.........LOL

P.S.
You DO
know what this really means, don't you? Not everything
SEEMS to be what we THINK it is! LOL
