Greetings, Ripplemakers

It's been a rough week for my computer.  It hasn't been able to send or receive mail this past week, so if you've written and not had a reply, you'll know why.  I've set up a different software package for mail and can now send/receive, but it's very limited in what it can do.  Hopefully, I'll get it fixed this weekend.

The Old Man and the Dog
By

Early this week my girl friends and I were having lunch at a well known bar-b-q place in Corpus Christi. We live out of town and don't get in very often so were looking forward to the time together and a meal out.

Two homeless men and their old dog were in front asking people for money. One of the men came in and nearly everyone was watching as he was asking the buffet attendant for food. She tried to ignore him due to the rules that they have.

An old well dressed man got up and went to her. We couldn't hear what was going on but she handed the old man a bag and he went outside sitting down on the curb and started feeding the dog something. The attendant at this time handed the homeless person two large sacks and he left to join his friend.

The restaurant had been getting quieter and quieter as people started watching what was going on. You could have heard a pin drop as the old man came back in and took his seat. He sat there a few seconds looking at his lap then started eating again.

All of us had tears in our eyes and didn't know what to say to each other. We think everyone in the place was really moved.
