Summer is almost over

Hello loyal friends! I am currently sitting here looking out my window and
listening to the children playing at the swimming pool. School is still out for
the summer, at least for now. Parents are just beginning to look for school
supplies, new uniforms for those children entering another year at his or her
school either for the first time, or just returning after a long vacation in
Europe, for those fortunate enough to have the ability to afford such a
vacation. One still has time for taking a road trip for seeing friends or
relatives. One may use the time during his or her families Road Trip to visit
the college or University his or her son or daughter will be attending in the
fall. Time flies, and summers are becoming shorter as we age. Although I do not
yet see leaves changing colors, and yet, in a few short weeks, summer will be
officially over. I am not one for using rhetorical questions, so this is one
exception to my rule. Where has the time gone? It seems that just last week,
(we) were still wearing shorts, and starting on getting suntans. (For most of
us at least.) Friends, you may have noticed some changes in my writing style.

Happy Mothers Day :-)

Mom, Happy Mothers Day Everyone, Happy Mothers Day is coming soon to a House
and Restaurant near you. It seems as though celebrating the New Year s Day just
happened yesterday. Easter Sunday has already passed by, and now, Mothers Day
is on the horizon. Time seems to fly and before we know it, Thanksgiving dinner
will be on the menu again. Back up for a moment! Take one holiday at a time.
Mothers Day only happens once a year according to our calendars. If this is the
main thought of most, take a step back up for one minute O.K ? Mothers Day is
everyday. Mothers day is everyday. That needed repeating. Mothers Day is when
Momma wakes up early everyday and fixed our breakfast, made certain to send us
off to school with a full stomach. Mom sometimes cooks our favorite dinner,
Macoroni and cheeze. She held our hands when we got sick, or when we were
afraid of the dark. She told us bedtime stories, and she even let us sleep in
her bed during a thunderstorm. When we became older, she kept dad from really
laying down the law, keeping him from really hurting us. She is the the same
who tells dad not to say anything when he picked us up from Jail at two O clock

Happy New Year :)

Happy New Year. Another year has past, and a new one is starting. This time
every year, new year resolutions are made, old resolutions are reviewed, and
life begins a new cycle. Although most people keep and act upon resolutions
made at the beginning of each new year. Now comes the difficult part. How many
resolutions have been acted upon in the past? Are the same resolutions made
every year, with the focus of changing some habit, saving more money, or
planning for a vacation; changes that never seem to materialize. For example, I
have planned for at least the last five years to visit Germany for the
Christmas Holidays. And every year this never happens. When the time arrives to
make a New New Years resolutoion, make it a resolution that will be easy to
keep; then reward the successes. Here is an idea for an easy resolution: To
continue to maintain a healthy life, to thank God for all blessings received.
Thankyou for continuing to read these articles. I appreciate your loyalt. God
bless you with health and prosperity forever. Larry http://

Home for Christmas

Hello readers! And thank you for continuing to read my ezine. Christmas is the
time of year when we pause to consider the reason for the season. Chiristmas is
a time for receiving gifts, for giving gifts, and hopefully remembering people
who are less fortunate than most of us. A true defination of Christmas is to
remember the birthday of Jesus Christ, and why he came into our world. This is
my personal belief; However,if this is not a personal belief for most readers,
that's o.k. as well. Jesus came so that all of us could be saved, and received
by God the father. In our soceity, most often people thinks about Christmas
after Thanksgiving, usually on "Black Friday" for early shopping discounts.
Enjoy celabrating Christmas with your family, friends, and neighbors. Stay
safe, stay inside when the weather is cold and miserable, and enjoy the heat of
your Fireplace. Please think about why Christmas is important to you, then
share that importance with your children or grandchildren as something to pass
along to their children. Jesus if the real reason for the season. God bless
everyone this holiday season, and Merry Christmas, and a prosperous New Year.
Anxiety bubbles inside of us, because we know or favorite Uncle's and Aunts,

Post 9/11; Loss of Innocence , Part II

Dear Readers; Last time I wrote about the loss of innocence post 9/11. I have
had time to discuss with my Men's study group what has happened to America
since that day five years ago. The Tsumai in Asia, Hurricane Katrina in
Louisana, where we learned that despite all of our acheivements in this
country, we're still struggling to come to terms with what is still happening
in our country. The sad part about all of this is that as a People, and as a
Society, we are still lost in the Sea of indiviuality, and selfishness. Sure,
we send aid to Africa, Somilia, and Mexico, and yet, children in big city
ghetto's are still going to bed hungry, afraid, and hopeless. The hope dies
when these children and teens are constantly being told by society that they
will never have an opportunity to achieve great things. Look at the entire
education system in our inner cities, and not just in middle america in
general, but in rural america as well. Althouth I would like to make this a
racial issue, (and I really wish that it were that simple), the situation is
not that easy to quantify, nor clarify. What we're telling ourselves, as well

]This is part I of a three part series: Dear Readers, and Friends; It has been
yet another year to celebrate the loss of our innocence. On September 11,2001,
five years ago last Monday, we were a divided nation, caught up in our own
problems, our own worries, and our own selfish ambitions. That morning, like
every morning for most of us, was no different from the other mornings. Most of
us did not wish to go through the effort of going to "the Job", getting ready
to send the Kids off to shcool, or, if that Monday was your day off, you were
probably thinking of your list of chores that you needed to complete. If you
were at odds with your spouse, with your kids, or even with co-workers, you
felt that either A) you had time to fix the situation, B)you felt that you had
no reason to fix the situation, or C) you really were not concerned. That may
have worked any other day; except, on September 11, 2001, that chance would
never arrive. On that day, we lost Friends, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents,
Mothers, Fathers, Spouses, or, Life partners. Children found themselves without
Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, and Sisters. We as a nation
Fall is just around the corner, and it's time to start pulling out winter
clothes, putting away Summer clothes. Time to start looking towards fall and
winter activities. In Michigan for example, hunting season is about to kick
off. Time to tap the trees for maple surip, make candy, and sell it to your
friends. Although it feels like Summer zoomed by us, it's still time to take
that last road trip, go fishing, camping, or even time to visit old friends.
Take some time to regenerate, and to reflect on time well spent with friends
and family. In most parts of our nation, County Fairs are in full swing. In
Allegan,my home town in Michigan, the first week of September is when the
Allegan County Fair would begin. Time to judge the best pies in the county, the
best Cows or Horses, the largest pumpkins, and take the time to celebrate the
fall season. I always looked forward to our County Fair, because it was a time
to reflect the time when the harvesting of crops would take place. It was a
time when Country living meant something. A time to play in the corn fields,
and times to get lost in the fields. Country living when I was young was
Hello Friends, and welcome to my latest newsletter. Today, I want to focus on
what God wants me to discuss with you. Summer is coming to an end, and soon,
school will be starting. One suggestion for ensuring that your kids' day get's
off to a great start, is to start off the day with prayer. Pray for your
child's safety, and pray that their enemy's will not get the best of them.
After prayer, make certain that they get a good breakfast. This is important. A
child who eat's a good breakfast will be able to concentrate, and perform well
in a classroom environment. Now, if you as a parent must leave for work before
your child departs, prepare something in advance, like the night before, after
your children goes to bed. This way, they'll be motivated to eat someting
before leaving. In the evening, try at least once or twice weekly to eat dinner
together. This gives all family members an opportunity to discuss important
matters, ask for prayer, or help with school work. Each week, ask each member
to pray for the family's well being. Help your children understand what prayer
is, and why it is necessary to pray. Also, I encourage you to attend a local
Hello Friends and neighbors; The summer is almost over, and fall is just around
North-West, the weather is changing. Just in July, we were expierencing record
tempratures. At least, the rain has stayed away for the most part, of which I
am grateful. After lining in Germany for so long, I thought that I would not
experince so much rain, especially in the Summer months. The North-West reminds
me of Germany every fall, since Seattle is so much like Germany, I feel at
home; however, I can do without so much rain. That's why Seattle is called the
"Emerald City". Sounds like a comic book theme. Something like the Emerald City
Hello Friends. I hope that you all have been enjoying the Summer heat, like we
expierenced in the Pacific North West in the Month of July. Record High's like
tempratures in the upper 90 degree range. Now I'm not accustomed to that much
heat. Although I live in the Pacific North West, I am still not accustomed to
the rain, even after eleven years of calling Tacoma/Seattle my home. I hope
that if where your are, you are still expierencing a heat wave, that you stay
well hydrated and cool as much as possible. What I really would like to write
about is the state of the condition of some of our Nations High Schools, as
seen on the popular Opra Winfry show. Most important is the fact that the High
school drop out percentages across America are increasing in number as well.
Not just in "big City" America, but we're seeing this trend happening in rural
areas as well. Not only that, most African American students are being left
behind academically as well. According to statements made by Opra Winfry, and
by statements made by Bill and Milinda Gates, Founders of the Bill and Milinda
Gates Foundation, this should be a cause of concern in our society. Why?
Fathers' day is approaching fast. Let this day be a day of rememberece of all
the good things that your father has done for you. Remember those times that
your car broke down in the middle of the night? You called your dad because
Since most Americans places spending time remembering Mothers day, at the top
