THE FIFTH DIVISION

Yesterday in the mail, I received a letter from the Fifth Division of the U.S. Army.

They have asked me to join in their Labor Day celebration, in memory of all those who served in the fifth division of the Army.  Although I cannot attend the celebration in the Carolina's, I want to write them and thank them for remembering my father who was in the fifth division during WWII.  I just wish dad had known about this society.  I would have personally taken him to one of their reunions.

I hope that someone who reads this was or is a member of this society.  I think it's wonderful how veterans who have served in all wars, think of one another.

After putting the WWII soldiers on the Internet and the great number of veterans who contacted me trying to help me find the families of these veterans, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Though no one knew my father personally, it brings myself and my siblings great joy to know that someone out there cares about our veterans.

God Bless each and everyone of you who have served your country and who is serving now.  To me, you are all heroes.

For those who are overseas, a special thank you for who you are and what you do.

Each and everyone of you have earned your wings.
