ABBA Father

By Robyn Cavalera

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Rom 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery again to fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba! Father!

Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.

Rom 8:17 And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

Gal 4:5 that He might redeem the ones under Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba! Father!

Gal 4:7 So that you no more are a slave, but a son, and if a son, also an heir of God through Christ.

We have a wonderful inheritance in Jesus. But how many of us really KNOW who God is to us now, through Jesus?

Father! When we look at ABBA Father, it is a very intimate knowledge of the Father so we can call HIM Dada, or Daddy. We are meant to be that close to God through Christ Jesus. What He received from His Father is also what we are given. HIS inheritance is OUR inheritance. His Father, is now our Father.

Do you approach God as one to be feared or as a Father of Love and Mercy? Yes, we should all Fear God, for that is the beginning of Wisdom. To fear God is to hate sin, and be repulsed by it. That is what causes us to repent, that healthy fear of God. But we are also JOINT HEIRS with Jesus, and as such Children or sons of God through Him.

When a child has done wrong, he is in justified fear of the punishment of his Dad. Yet he also knows that this same Dad is the one who he crawls into the lap of, for love, comfort and assurance.

That is how we should be. We are allowed now to come to the very throne room of the Almighty God, and approach Him without fear. We can now climb into the lap of ABBA Father, and be held and comforted, as only He can do. This is all made possible for us by Jesus and His shed Blood and Resurrection!

Do you take advantage of this new standing you have with the Father? If you do not, you are missing out on one of the most wonderful experiences of your earthy life! I give Praise and Glory to God alone. It is through Him and by Him that all things have been made and are being made. He is Holy, Just, Righteous, True. His Kingdom will never end and always has been! This is the same God that through Jesus Christ, I now can call ABBA Daddy. I can Worship Him and still be able to crawl into His lap for love and comfort. I can give to HIM all the Honor, Glory, and Praise, for HE IS Worthy, yet I can still also go to HIM as HIS CHILD and cry my heart out to Him in trouble, or just rest in His lap for Peace.

My prayer for you all would be that you would find your ABBA Father. That you would go to Him in the innocence of a Child of God (a son of God) and approach Him knowing His eyes are on you alone, and HE is ready to lift you up and hold you close to His heart. Listen Beloved for the heart beat of ABBA Daddy. Listen hard! Rest on HIS Shoulder, and hear HIM say to you. "All I have is yours. You are entitled to the same inheritance I gave to My Son Jesus." Act on HIS Promises for you, for they are true, and will NEVER return to HIM void, but will accomplish all HE sets them out to do.

We love You Lord, our ABBA Daddy. We know that we are Your Children through Jesus, and we know You are there to lead and guide us in all our days. Daddy, let us hear Your heart beat! Let us know we are safe within Your Arms. We give to You alone all Glory, Honor, and Praise, for You alone are God!

Peaceful USA

Sharlett F. Hunt

Hometown headlines read, "Lady killed by sniper while vacuuming her car at the local car wash".  Phoenix, Arizona, the date, today.

Twenty-one victims have been attributed to these monsters that they have given cute pet names.  One is called Serial Shooter, the other Baseline Killer.  I suppose this takes away the human element.

Nothing like that ever happens here in Peaceful, USA.  This always happens to other people in another country or even state, not right here on my doorstep.  In my town, we all live in harmony with no murders.  Nobody would take a gun and fire attempting to kill a brother or sister.  It happens more frequently than even my imagination can fathom.

These people are attempting to go about their everyday, though maybe mundane lives.  They are tending their yards, on their way to work, perhaps dropping the children off at school.  I can only imagine the terror of being caught by a bullet from an unknown source, many of them deadly.

Here in Peaceful, it is easy to separate myself from "those" victims.  They live far away from me and the perpetrator is one I will never see.  Or will I?

I wear rose colored glasses and love to see only the beauty in life.  Even here, with all the beauty, we have gangs in Lakeland, Florida.  The police are not doing enough to stop it.  Some enjoy being institutionalized as they seem to prosper as they could never do in the real world.  I speak from experience and not word of mouth.

This War on Terror is a joke.  To people like me, it is a terror to know that your friendly neighborhood cop is asleep and not going to even answer your call if there is an emergency.  They are terrifically overpaid, with, by the way, my tax dollars, with no results.

We had several convenience store robberies and shootings recently in "Peaceful".   The police attributed it to gangs but not another word has been said.  Next stop is a sniper here, just for the fun of it.  Where will it end?

In this town, not even ten years ago, you could go to bed and know your neighbor would watch out for you.  You never locked a door.

To be perfectly honest, I refuse to have fear.  My God tells me not to fear but have love.  These are the people He told me about that would be hard to love.

I do fear for the people of Phoenix. Here in Peaceful, it is easy to forget but I will not.  These twenty one victims are in my thoughts and prayers.  I am wondering if it isn't a good idea to arm ourselves.

This War on Terror is scaring me to death.  It's almost as if it is a mind game to keep citizens at bay and allow those who intend harm to roam the streets.

While others are fighting a war in other countries, our own Peaceful USA is being neglected.  When are we going to start looking out for our own?

That
Safe Place

Ellie Braun-Haley

Away in a safe place that God’s angels know,
Your sister is nurtured and pure love doth flow,
Laughter is heard and you know there is play
Kindness lives there as part of each day.

Our Father is present HIS love complete and true
Guiding and teaching like all parents do
Here thrives, compassion; faith and goodness abound
Knowledge, understanding and learning are found.

HE/SHE left you so early, with heartache and pain
Fears haunted your thoughts you’d not see him/HER again
But he/she waits in that safe place surrounded by love
Where you’ll be reunited in the Heaven’s above.

 God's Clay
Carol Meeks

As God controls our hearts and lives,
we mirror Him, His kingdom thrives.

We kneel to pray each night and day
because we learn He leads our way.
And then we see we must obey
with strength He gives, He molds our clay.

God gives us purpose, plans and goals.
We aim to please, He gives new soles.

We learn our skills and talents' thrills
can lead to pride and haste that kills.
He leads with power and overspills,
then turns our weakness into His wills.

He's the artist of Holy craft.
We're His canvas, selected draft.

 Mankind's Awakening
Carol Meeks

There, Moses prayed for all mankind.
He knew our lives could be refined.
Then he prayed for awakening.

He said, "Our time on earth is short
and all bad things we should abort."
Then he prayed for awakening.

And Moses told us God was ageless,
eternal, endless, also timeless.
Then he prayed for awakening.

So Moses added, "Ask not why,
on God we lean, on God we rely."
Then he prayed for awakening.

The awakening for which Moses prayed,
was the need to live our lives unfrayed.
Moses instilled God is The Rock,
God knows to whom and where we dock.

His sovereignty is always there.
from Dan to
Beersheba and everywhere.
Our time on earth with kin and friends
is but a flash as it withers and ends.

Moses prayed for awakenings,
awakenings, awakenings,
revival here on earth,
revival-second birth.

Readers Feedback

Never too old to be Happy by Diana Doles Petry, brought a laugh that I desperately needed! Visually told, her story sounded like my normal, every day life.

I have a dog who drools, not quite St. Bernard style, but enough to make me stifle a laugh when an unwanted, unannounced salesperson leaves, taking with them a streak of liquid love, only noticeable from behind. Of course, I won't tattle on my own dog!

And I too, find those spare glasses more practical now than a condom, unless I lose my eyeglass case and need something to protect my lenses.

Thanks for a well written, all-too-true, look at life.
