Today’s announcements

A happy birthday wish goes out to Jim Kirton (husband of Magdalena James) from you friends at Storytime Tapestry: wt@wynter.ca

Carol, I got this prayer request from my friend, Cindi:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jerry Stout was found beaten and robbed last night (Tuesday) and left for dead on railroad track.  Both arms and legs were broken and all of his ribs. Jerry had to have half of his brain removed today during brain surgery and if he lives he will not know anyone and will not be able to move according to my sister, Dolores.   She is taking this very hard and has already had one stroke.

They have arrested two women for robbery so far. My sister said he looked like he was beaten with a crow bar, his head is swollen 4 times its size and his face is black. Please pray for him and also for Dolores.  She asked that everyone, who can, might pray for him.
Thanks!  Linda  lindaminutolo@hotmail.com

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart. I will be found by you,"....Jeremiah 29: 11-14

Be blessed and be a blessing,
Cindi

Planning Fulfilled

Norma Liles

Since June, 2005, we have been planning for the next get together of family and friends to celebrate the lives of our parents; Ollie and Josephine Hoop whom we lost in 1949 and 1976 to their eternal abode.

Over this period of time, we have enjoyed the memories of that day in June as well as the pictures that will be forever engrained in our hearts and mind,

I was in charge of putting the invitations together for this year which I have done, have made plans for poetry to be read and to make sure that the decor warranted the fall flavor of the day.

As I speak, our family reunion of September 2, 2006 is but a memory but a lovely memory where we missed some faces but saw new ones. It has been a day filled with an unusual time of festivities of love and laughter and enjoying the new babies and their antics.

It goes without saying that the food was awesome and we all left with a feeling of a day well spent with anticipation of another family reunion in  2007.

I encourage you to join family and friends to keep your heritage and memories fresh.  Time has a way of speeding along but memories of family and friends is timeless.

Reap what you sow?

Norma Liles

As I stood outside of my place of employment, my eyes drifted across the street to the little crippled man who came by daily to take what monies he could gather by selling pencils.

My co-worker asked me how much I intended to give as a token for a pencil and I hesitated for a moment and said: "Whatever I have in my change purse!"

When the man came up to us, I opened my purse to search for the change but I wanted to keep enough for coffee for my afternoon break but something within me told me to give him what I found there. He thanked me while offering me the pencil but I refused the offer as I felt that he could give it to someone else in hopes that they, too, would reward him.

At breaktime, I went to the canteen to buy a cup of coffee but I had forgotten that I had given the little fella all of my change but when I opened my change purse, there lay the exact change that I needed to purchase the coffee.

To this day, I do not understand how this money came to be in my purse and on top of that, the exact change that I required.

“A Tribute to our Steve”

Caroline Sanderson

The world became a sadder place

that September day when many a tear was shed.

Word quickly spread around the globe …

that our beloved “Croc Hunter” lay dead.

Australia lost its favourite son

but Crikey!, he will live on in our hearts.

His legacy will continue as others carry on,

his passion and knowledge to impart.

He stirred something in us all, young and old,

with his unstoppable joy and zest for life.

Our prayers go out to all who grieve but

especially, his precious children and wife.

His passion was for the wildlife

and his heart for his beloved Australia Zoo,

where he shared his love of ALL God’s creatures,

and made famous, his trademark motto, Crocs Rule.

But most of all he was just an ordinary bloke.

A mate and family man thru and thru.

A man with a great big heart and a joy for life.

But most of all, a man who was TRUE BLUE.

"OLD WOMEN'

C.J. Wylie

Footsteps in time frozen

was the old women's tale

In a youthful sort of way

gave freely her wisdom

of generations past

Comforting with love

the very gift of life

Spilling forth

to all those who would drink

the passion of her magic

Spreading forever more

joy, health, and freedom

To create the expression

of Divinity.

"MAGIC FLOW'

C. J. Wylie

The distance traveled

no time can keep

Of all that is learned

no book can speak

Words are not heard

of what is known

There are no secrets

in gardens grown

It is only the hearts

pure love of gold

That we all shine

and glow

And gives life

its magic flow.

There you go my friend, enjoy.

Thank You

Readers Feedback

Carol,

I asked my mother for your book "Picking up the pieces" for my b-day a few weeks back. She got me a wonderful electric skillet. (I thought she must have forgotten about my asking her for your book) but when I opened up the skillet to check it out....there it was ....your book! AWW, I started crying..not really sure why only that it will mean a lot to me to read it, my mother new I really wanted it and she came through. I'm exited about starting it tonight.

Any way have a great week and thank you for your greeting. "Love the day your in"

Mary
