Hello friends/family,

It is 8:00p.m. (est)as I type these few words.  My son-in-law

is in the emergency room as I speak being tested for possible

injuries.  He was using his riding mower at his son's home

this afternoon on a very hilly area.  The mower threw him and

he had to roll as it was coming after him.  We pray that his

back is not broken and or that he might not have pneumonia as

he is in misery.  I will do a followup on this email as soon as

I have more information.  Naturally, I request your prayers on

his behalf.  His name: Earl George Schneider, Sr.

Love and blessings, Normie p.s. Earl is 60 yrs old and like a

son to me.  A very dear man who fights Agent Orange, too.

Newest update from Norma Liles:

Thank you so very much for your prayers! My son in law came

through the ordeal better than we expected. No bones are broken

but he is very sore and on demoral. He has pneumonia but it was

not bad enough to admit him to the hospital.

Thank you for being available especially at a time like this. I speak

for my daughter and son in law, as well, Normie

Now onto the good stuff!

Laughter and all Its Causes

        by Sharlett F. Hunt

Relief is a form of joy if you think about it.  Not to be worried or upset but free from that which has caused it.

Freeform laughter.  Nothing more personal than to have a good laugh, alone.  A gut wrenching giggle that starts inside and travel to the innermost outer layer of our being. The old wise man , I am sure, had a lot to say about laughing, never forcing it.  This is probably what made him wise.  He is able to laugh.

My dad is a card.  He is eighty-nine and still can produce giggles from me as when I was a little thing, sitting on his knee.

I have so much I need to record of his stories of his days in Alabama when they had no money.  It was during the Great Depression and he had to travel out of town sometimes to support his family.

It was on one of these trips that he and his brother Lacey Ray had formed a company that laid concrete manifolds.  I am not really sure what that is but needless to say, it was a lot of work that my dad and his brother were willing and more to do to send money to their children.

My daddy tells me stories of so many things that I need to get on tape so I will have it forever.  He tells me of "shinin" when my uncle and grandpa got jailed and they looked at him, thinking he was the culprit and all the time his shine still was setting right under their nose.  He never got caught.

This was in the old days of South Alabama when nobody could find work.  There was some work in the saw mills and my dad labored for $.75 per day.  They stole chickens from the neighbors in our town to feed their children.  But guess what?  We are all alive, except for one, that I will write about, my brother Terry.

I remember my Momma saying she couldn't stand living out in the sticks where my dad had stuck her.  He wanted to go hunting and fishing with his brothers and forgot about leaving a young bride at home alone.  She was so innocent when they married.  Only fourteen.  He understands now.  He always loved Ouida with her coal black hair and deep grey/blue eyes.  She was mostly Cherokee and so much loved my daddy.  He made her laugh, I am sure, as he does me today.

Any man who can make a woman laugh shall always be special.  Not a man who talks continuously about nothing but a man who has a sense of humor.  Where have they all gone???  If you can find a common ground for any woman and make her see some humor in a situation, you are at third base.  Next, the clothes come off, only kidding, in a way.

I have so many things of my daddy that I must record.  His stories are so funny.  He can make me laugh for thirty minutes with no break.  I have never known a man with such wisdom.  He just talks about real life and all its moments.

I had lost my cat today again.  Precious had not come home.  We go through this at least once a week.  I am up and down the road, knocking on doors, accusing in my mind everybody in this trailer park of taking my cat and wouldn't call my dad this time until I had found her.  I didn't start crying until I was watching Montel about some missing kid.  I almost called him about Precious.

Then I started thing, why do I let her out?  Is it really necessary?  The answer is no.  If I am going to keep her for a pet, I need to stop and look around.  This aint the Walton's neighborhood.  People do things for different reasons nowadays.  Lots of people don't like cats, including my psychologist, as she admitted.

I found her by calling her name, loudly.  I live in a senior community where you are not supposed to yell over a certain level.  The man next door could be a weirdo as I already suspect.  So she is home permanently.

By the way, laughter is the best medicine there is.  It cures every ill.  If I ever find a man who can make me laugh, I believe I will fall in love again.  That is the true key to happiness.

Elohim
Carol Dee Meeks

He hung the stars, the moon, the sun.
In orbits high, His work, He spun.
With loving arms and hands outstretched
He deeds' creation, dells He etched.

I am in awe of His power.
His love for us He does shower.

He made the angels just above us.
The angels reign and guide and lead us.
He stamps our approval while on earth
with value God gave us our worth.

I am in awe of His power.
His love for us He does shower.

He masters creation.  The angels sing.
He is sovereign in everything.
When we're like Him, the heavens ring
Creator, Elohim, and Holy King.

Zion, The City
Carol Dee Meeks

Many things here
this-David's City,
where a bankrupt nation dwelled.

But would be restored
with the remnant
that loved only God.

This "House of the God of Jacob"
better known as
Jerusalem
gives the groundwork for our faith.

For Jesus will reign here someday
with splendor, and power, and grace.

Holy! Holy! Holy!
This Peaceful Prince
at "The Mountain of the Lord."

Conquering Pride With Grace
Carol Dee Meeks

Jesus made us in His image
and desires blessings all around.
If we obey His commandments,
surely goodness and mercy will abound.

We will become just like Him
and those around us will certainly see
His qualities of love and compassion
as gentleness and kindness cover us with glee.

We'll look past all hurts from others.
Prejudice and pride will pass away.
Closeness and sharing will be normal;
no one will be harmed or held at bay.

Families and friends become a unit
no matter their creed or race.
If we treat one another as Christ treats us,
we'll live, in, and with His mercy and grace.

Readers Feedback

Carol, I read about this tragedy in the papers here, but didn't realize there had been others in Canada as well.  Thanks for this well written article.  It makes all of us think.  Wishing you every joy, Joe

Dear Carol,

I had heard and seen some of this news here in the states,

and major internet news carried it too, but this article really

gives an in-depth look at this crisis of the heart.

I am so sorry for this attack on the college, will pray for

the victims and their families, and feel sympathy for your

nation.
