Titles

Bill Walker

Missouri's@yahoo.com

There are different titles a person may work for in this life. Many titles, some has a very nice sound to them. Some titles one comes by in hard work, that is work from the school of hard knocks, while some comes by way of much schooling, I think it really makes no difference about how much schooling. One might say all learning come from the college of hard knocks.  All learning is hard for most of us some where along the line.

My dad loved his title, he had worked for it, He said by the way of college of hard knocks. I think there was a time he went to some college for a course or two.  He said he had a paper saying he was a Chef, but never learned any thing he didn't know before. A title, he walked into a place, you would hear people say, hello Chef Walker.

What cranked me up here was thinking about two ladies I happen to know. Both with the title Doctor.  Medical doctor, doctor of medicine. One that can treat sick and injured people. One I have forgot her name, well she was of little importance to start with.  She thought other wise, I am sure. After all she was a Doctor M.D. and she loved telling you that.  You see she came from a rich family, had the money one might say to buy the title.  While I am sure that isn't the case, she had the money to go to college, then on to medical schools. She never after getting her degrees and so, ever do the work of being a medical doctor, it was the honor and title she wanted.   I always thought what a waste.  The family could have helped some one back in those years of hard times to have went to schools and learned the art of medical doctor, that would have went on to have been a great doctor. A doctor to have filled a need some where in this world.

I happen to be going to a lady doctor at this time. I know not her back ground, all I know is Doctor Susan Peterlin can say she is a doctor M.D.. And she is working at being a doctor M.D. There is a vast difference in the two. She has taken the classes and has the papers to show. Her papers is more then a show and tell. Hers is with honor she works as being a real doctor M.D.

My question is what good is it to say one is a doctor if that person will not step out and do it. What was the use of going, taking up a  space, and keeping someone out of the space to have been a real doctor?  I think I have no problem calling Dr. Susan Peterlin by the title of Doctor M.D.  I sure do the other lady, she was no doctor M.D.  She  was a title holder, and that is about the size of it.

Seasonal Majesty
Cynthia Groopman

Have you ever stopped to think, my dear friend,
Of the majesty that each season does joyfully send.
Spring is like the new born child,
So, charming, exciting and replete with a splendor so tender and mild.
Summer, on the other hand,
Brings the prince of youth full of energy and zest,
Dashing throughout the hazy hot and humid land.
Autumn is when mother nature changes,
Her clothes with colors so exquisite and majestic,
When the chill fills our cup of life with a new spirit so enthusiastic.
Winter is a time of mother nature's slumber and frigid grip,
When out of hot tea cups we enjoy and sip.
Mother earth is covered by a blanket as thick of wool so white,
Creating a picturesque scene that is a beautiful delight.
Thus, God created each season with a majesty so dear,
So, enjoy each and may your hearts sing,
And may your thoughts be full of cheer.

When My Heart Sings
Cynthia Groopman

When my heart melodically sings,
Sweet songs of rejoicing love, like fragrant flowers,
Crown my garden of life with zing.
When my heart sings,
Sunshine warmly enfolds me into her golden glowing embrace,
as bright smiles beam and sprightly dance on a happy face.
As my heart sings,
Gone are the sad ugly frowns of yesterday,
As joy and gladness exultingly caressing us in a gentle splendid way.
When my heart sings,
No longer do I experience deep pain or sorrow,
For crowning regally the singing heart,
Is the exquisite rainbow of everlasting hope,
Magnificently adorning my sky of life,
With the promise of a brighter and better tomorrow.
For, when my heart sings,
Doleful storm clouds magically vanish and disappear.
As song's deep mirth hugs us,
With affectionate and abounding sparkling cheer.

Appreciating The Guitar
Cynthia Groopman

Oh, guitar, you deserve a great deal of appreciation,
Your lively sounds cause my heart to dance and sing in smiles and elation.
Of the many instrument that are played,
Of all that are in the musical band, you rank amongst the very best,
Filling my ears with tuneful happiness.
As each and every tune is heard,
I am reminded of the melodic sweetly singing songbird.
As each string is plucked and we merrily strum,
We bask in sunshine's mirth having lots of fun.
Thus, guitar, this was my tribute to you for today,
For adding zest to each and every musical day.

Labors of Love
Cynthia Groopman

Labors of love,
Are messages whispered by Angels from above.
When a heart that is weary, laugh and sings,
No longer is anxiety and worry consuming everything.
When a face that has been full of doleful frowns for a long while,
Suddenly brightens up, laughing with a bright smile,
Labors of love, I perform,
As souls with joy and gladness are mirthfully adorned.
For God encourages labors of love to be done,
As we bask in good deed's golden warm fulfilling sun.
Thus, labors of love, I have been doing for 16 years,
Embracing the elderly, with laughter,
Sparkling hope and drying their tears.

A Message From Heaven
Cynthia Groopman

As I gaze at Heaven above,
I hear a soft gentle voice speaking to me a message full of love.
Telling me not to be afraid,
always to be happy and never to be dismayed.
She says, I am fine,
and there is lots of spiritual sunshine.
All the loved ones are here,
filling days with eternal cheer.
No stress, or pain,
nor pouring rain.
Skies are eternally blue,
and God's voice is loud and clear too.
For you, she will always pray,
and then she hugged me in a spiritual way.
Do not worry, my dear,
for I am your guardian angel and for you I am always near.
