 Humble Man

Bill Walker

missourisage@yahoo.com

I think some times we forget a few things. It is getting about Easter time, we should stop and think of some of the teachings of the most humble man.  He said to forgive, how often do we do that?  He I think meant we should over look some of the short comings of our friends, and fellow travelers of this life.  We should remember none is prefect, all has done wrong, and fell by the way side.  He came not to find fault with our short comings, but to lift us up. To give us hope, and he said more then once I forgive.

I find it strange that we can find faults with others, while we never know the truth about the whys and so on that may have caused a person to walk the walk that they do.  Remember it is not our place to judge others.  We have not walked the mile in their shoes.

If we wish to be fishers of men, we must look for the good things about them,  maybe over look some of the short falls.  Maybe in due time the short falls will fall away.  If we were prefect there would have been no need of the humble man.  I am sure the most prefect of us never could stand the heat in the kitchen, if it was not for the humble man.

We are human, we have many weak points.  We in every day life, do stray, like lost sheep.  In this world, and it always has been that way, will stay that way.  There is many things that happen to make the sheep turn away.  Nothing changes, remember we are human.

This is why we need the humble man, he is there if you will look.  His hand is out to pluck one from the storms of life, much like he did for Peter, the day of walking on water.  The trouble is too many self rightest people think they too walk on water.

There is many stories in the Bible. I think we miss a lot of things, by just reading, and never read just a short bit, and think of what the lines might mean in our every day life.  How many times if we would read just a few lines, and think of what those lines means in every day life..  We read, but do we read, and think?

I think if we read, and do think, we will find we fall short on coming close to lots of things the humble man tried to teach. We have too many self rightest in side the church doors, looking at the short comings of those that would like to come in the door.  The ones that might if given a chance see the light of their short coming, and change their ways.

The Bible says come unto me, ye that are heavy laden with troubles.  I will take the burdens.  Now I think these burdens are your troubles, and sins.  I will remove the burdens and the sins.  After all that was the reason for the humble man.  The man who washed the feet of the 12 that day.  The most humble man, the most perfect.

But how can we do so if we close our hearts, and find fault with those that would like to come??
