Carol,

the dr today confirmed that I have vertigo; not the flu.  For you who are not acquainted with vertigo, it is dizziness.  I am on medication to help to correct it and I have a script for nausea medication if I need

it.  I have searched online for some answers and here is what I found.  Normie

A BETTER LIFE

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

"I want a better life." That has become the slogan of our society today. Everywhere we look there are a thousand suggestions on how to live a better life. There are pills, exercises, and diet books to help us lose weight so we can live a better life. There are lotions, treatments, and surgeries to help us look better so we can live a better life. There are cell phones, computers, and televisions to keep us connected and entertained so we can live a better life. There are cars, clothes, and fancy homes to keep us feeling wealthy so we can live a better life. There are schools, classes, and colleges to get our kids ready to live an even better life than we do. There are also jobs, cash, and credit cards to keep us spending for all of these things so that we can one day, hopefully, have that better life we dream about.

I want a better life too, but I don’t think that any of these things will help me to get it. I have tried a lot of them over the years and while they may make you feel better for a moment they don’t bring you the lasting happiness you want. I have found for myself that the only way to have a better life is to live a better life, and only way to give your children a better life is to show them how to live a better life as well.

How do you live a better life? You start by living more for your soul and less for your wallet. You spend more time hugging and less time buying. You turn off the television and take a walk with your children. You smile more and worry less. You spend more time with your loved ones and less time at the office. You laugh longer and more often. You look in your heart more and in the mirror less. You make your first job spreading joy rather than earning money. You realize just how much God loves you and you spend your days sharing that love with everyone you meet.  And you always remember that your life is a gift from God and how you live it is your gift back.

 The Lights are Going Out

Abram Friedland

The city and its lights

Its bustle and its might

Are all going out tonight

Because of the coming fear

And the destruction now so near

We thought our power

Would last past the hours

And our showers of flowers

Would never finish

And our civil lustre would never tarnish

But now there's fire coming our way

The devil is doing his dance today

To our sheltered corner come he just may

And leave our cities in ruins

While our version of History burns

What should we do?

How do we stop ourselves from burning too?

Our old mandate can we ever even renew?

Should we stop driving our cars?

Should we stop aiming for the movie stars?

Someone among us should start talking about that

Because lean cows are coming to eat the fat

And neither we nor anyone can escape the rats

So as the sun sets

Turn off the TV sets

And get out there with shovels and hearts

Before the war in our city starts.

This one is about the destruction and the warfare that seems to be running out of control.

Dawn in the Fields

Abram Friedland

Someone told me

Something I failed to see

The fields in our country

Blooming with food,

And working kids from the city

I soon realized

That our neighbours lied

About what they prized

And left their own people terrorized

Our home, our future

Is still so insecure

Yet our pride, our pasture

Is still worked by kids so mature

The kids come there in the spring

Others are on their way to basic training

To safeguard our lives

To defeat hate mongers and their knives

We should say thanks

I should say thanks

For my future

The part I can’t put

In any bank

The War is On

Abram Friedland

The fire is raging

The day might be changing

And someone told me

I can do nothing

To stop the killing

I cannot sleep

I will not weep

Because that won’t help

It won’t bring in any sheep

It won’t stop the tide of blood so deep

But I can do more

Than protest about the war

I can send support

I can send money from my store

I can send kind words and even more

Because we can stop the fire

We must act upon our desire

To end the fighting soon

Before it spreads out of control

And leaves all the world its toll.
