Subject: Storytime Tapestry Update On Hart - April22, 2007

Dear Friends
Thanks to all of you who have sent notes of encouragement to me during this time. I wish I could write to each of you seperately, but time just does not permit.
It is so humbling to know that you all care so much. I would like to share many of the encouraging words I have received, but of course, that is not possible. But I received one note that I think will meet the needs of many. There are SO many of you who are going through far worse rough spots than we are..... Thank you, friend, for these lovely words. I know they will be a blessing to many.....

Helen:

You know I'm a hospital chaplain with long experience.  I may not be your chaplain, but God has seen fit for me to be here for you and Hart.  You may rant all you want.  You may verbally lash out, you may articulate your real feelings.  You may even admit that you're angry at God for the way things have turned out.  You may be assured He not only understands the depth of your disappointment and frustration; He's dealt with it before.  He's had to put up with mine, for one.  He's your Heavenly Father, and understands right where you are.  You may scream, cry, grind your teeth, even throw stuff.  I will be right here, reading, listening and praying with you.
I am not only a chaplain; I'm your brother.  We're family, and the least I can do is sit here and listen to you.  I may not have much to say, but I'll always be right here to listen, to love you both through this, and to be praying with and for you.  You are both loved--and make sure and give Rocky some good loves for an American lover of dogs.

Update on Hart: Things are much better today. I have talked to Hart twice today, and he is his old jolly self again, joking with the staff--who are now in a more jovial state of mind, too, because of Hart's attitude. One of the nurses calls him, "a real sweetheart!" So I feel better today about the whole thing. .... Hart said he was sitting up in his wheelchair, and they have taken him off the pain drip medication, giving him tylonol only when he needs it.  He also said that they have gotten him up on his "feet" for awhile......Tomorrow we are going to make a day of it, and go see Hart. Vancouver is a two hour drive from where we live (a quiet little farming community) to the big, busy city. While I am visiting Hart, Ernie and Faith will take their grandchildren to the beach, and maybe Stanley Park zoo. So I am looking forward to a pleasant day with Hart, while the kids have a fun day in Vancouver. We have been having beautiful weather, so I hope tomorrow it is, too. But I know that this family make the best of any kind of weather. Oh yes, and Rocky will stay home and look after Evelyn!!!!!! I tried to get Rocky to listen to Hart on the phone, but he doesn't understand and pulls his head away from the reciever..... But he sure does miss Hart....
Thanks for voting for my site.

Just A Seed Of Faith
Helen Dowd

Matthew 17:20
"For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed,
ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

Do you have some rocky mountain in your life you can’t surmount?
Are there bends along your path you fear to turn?
Are the worries that torment you far too numerous to count?
For solutions to your problems do you yearn?

Oh, you wake up in the morning with your head all in a spin,
Thinking only of the bills you have to pay.
But your bank account is empty, and your checks have not come in;
Or perhaps it is, your car just quit today.

In your heart you know God’s able, your problems to dissolve,
But the devil’s filled your head all up with doubt.
Yes, your path’s so steep and rocky that your fears you can’t resolve,
And the faith you have is just a mustard sprout.

With God nothing is impossible; so use your seed of faith:
He is holding out His hand for you to take.
He will smooth the way before you. He will guide you on the path.
So just trust Him…His child He'll not forsake.

For whatever you may ask of Him, He has promised He will give.
He so wants to hear His children talk to Him.
If you ask in faith, believing, you most surely will receive.
He will fill your cup of faith right to the brim.
