Subject: Storytime Tapestry: Sunday update on Hart, from Rocky and Helen - May01, 2007

 Dear Friends

Rocky and Helen both send Monday morning greetings. I will make this short, as it is 5:50 a.m. and in an hour and a half I will be off to the hospital again for the day. I was so very tired yesterday that after I got home from church last night I couldn't even think straight enough to go to my computer. But I went to bed at 10--very early for me--and had a good night's sleep.

 Rocky and Helen both want to thank all of you for your greetings and prayers. Last night I was speaking with one of the ladies at the church meeting and she said that she lost her husband two months ago, from a brain anurism. He was the same age as Hart. It made me thank the Lord all over again for sparing Hart.....What he had could have killed him, too, and he was pretty sick a while back, but God spared him.... And I know he will be back at his computer soon, sending out thanks and messages to all of you, his friends. So thanks again for your prayers.

 Rocky: Thanks friends, for all your greetings to me. I love being a part of Helen's letter. I enjoyed the day, sleeping on Hart's bed, and I didn't even have to get off for physios or doctors, as it was Sunday and they didn't come in--the doctor did, Helen said, but that was before she brought me from the van. By the way, the van is nice to travel in. I can see out the window really well.  Okay, have a great day. Here's Helen back.

Helen: I want to leave you with this great poem by my good friend, Mariane Holbrook.  It fits right in with my thoughts regarding Hart's illness.

 There Has To Be A Reason For This Pain

Mariane Holbrook

There has to be a reason for this all-consuming pain.
There must be something I have done, though I have wracked my brain.
What punishment is being dealt that I deserve this plight?
Should I accept it from God's hand or should I stand and fight?

I've searched and searched my heart until my tears have poured like rain.
I've read until my brain seemed dead to find the source of pain.
There has to be an answer that is waiting just for me;
I need to find that hidden link that finally sets me free.

But then I heard the voice of God who whispered through my tears;
"I'm here to give the strength you need and help you face your fears.
For though I did not cause this pain, I feel that you should know
That I permitted it, my child, because you need to grow.

"Don't let these precious hours of testing be a waste of time.
You have some valleys to go through and mountains still to climb.
.And as I chart your progress and decide you've passed the test,
Then I'll erase your pain, my child, and give you needed rest."
