Subject: Storytime Tapestry: Update on Hart - May02, 2007

   Dear Friends

It has been a very busy 2 days, with physio and doctors and the many things that go on in a hospital. Tomorrow someone is coming by to talk about wheelchairs; the occupational therapist still has to come; the homecare team has to assess what is needed at home to make life tolerable for Hart; a prosthesis specialist has to come by to assess that; a dietition has to interview Hart to see the proper diet for him for his colitis, and on and on and on.

Sorry I didn't get an update out yesterday. Some things have to crowd out others. But I am so thankful to all of you who have sent greetings, cards, get well wishes, prayers, stories, uplifting emails, etc. I have saved them all and as soon as Hart gets out he will have a lot of reading to do. I have printed out some of your messages, but time doesn't permit me to print them all.

I believe Hart will be getting his stitches out on Friday, and if all the assessors have come by then, there is a POSSIBILITY that he will be out. So we are holding our breath that soon Hart will be back to send out his own emails soon. Please be "patient."

I want to share this poem by another of my good friends, Kay Brewer.  Kay has storms of her own; yet she still takes time to think of other people and their pain and suffering. Thanks Kay, for sharing.

Life's Storms
Kay Brewer

Do you ever feel you're in a lifeboat,
Tossed about by the storms of life??
You hang on tight, pray to stay afloat.
For every day is troubled, full of strife.

Do you have the feeling you're all alone??
Lost in the vastness of a frightening sea,
Your once loving heart seems made of stone.
And from this life you just long to be free.

You search for a harbor to take refuge in.
You reach out in vain for a helping hand.
You wonder if it's possible, this battle to win.
And you really need a soft place to land.

They say no more is given than you can take.
You have the ability deep within yourself to fight,
But, so tired, the effort greater than you can make.
Surely, at the end of this tunnel there will be light.

Well prayer is the answer, this you must learn.
There you will find all the strength that you need .
When troubles are many to God you should go.
For He will guide you if you will allow Him to lead.

The seas will be calmed, the troubles diminished,
The helping hand that you seek given freely to you.
Those overwhelming feelings of despair are finished.
That God is your only salvation you know to be true.

Rocky: I haven't much to say. In fact, I am a little put out. Helen took me for a haircut yesterday and today I am all itchy. I haven't had a good day; except that it was good to lie on Hart's bed for a few hours....One nurse came in whom I hadn't seen before. She was a little aghast at first to see me on Hart's bed. She said, "A dog on the bed? This is a hospital!" But she isn't used to seeing dogs in the hospital she usually works in. It is in the big city and they don't allow dogs there. But I know the doctor doesn't mind. He even pets me when he comes in. He has a dog too. I could smell him on the doctor. The doctor says he is a golden labrador retriever, whatever that is! That's all I have to say for tonight,
except PLEASE........
Thanks to all of you who have been voting daily for (Helen's) website.
