The Boys

Bill Walker

missourisage@yahoo.com

Other day someone said something about the Boys and the so called writing the two did. The remarks made me think of a few things.  Yes I got the ideas of each story said wrote by those two, from things they would do. I would watch them doing something or something that happened to them.  I have the strange belief that animals do think and will kind of figure what to do about a problem.  It is like the time the Boys took a early morning walk in the snow, and got themselves lost.  I still think the two at last gave up trying to figure the way back, and walked up to this house. It had a porch, and the thought might have been, lets set on this porch a few minutes and maybe get out of the snow falling on our heads.  Also maybe the person that lives here will help us get back home. After a little bit Poo walked out to the curb, and was looking to see if someone might come along to help.  Yes I think that they was thinking a few different thoughts, the main one was we are lost, now what?

I think any writer of stories or books gets the idea of the story from seeing things, doing things.  Where else would a story come from?  The writer might have some truth, then mix in some unknowns to make the story.  I often wonder if so called true stores don't have some unknowns mixed in? Can we trust the writers of the history books 100% of the time? There maybe be a few things that isn't 100% pure. The writer just wrote what he or she thinks would be the 100% true facts of a case.  A lot of history is backed up with what many people seen, but did they see it all?  Each was standing in a different spot, and to them it was this way.  Joe stepped off the curb. One said he took one step. Another said no he took two steps. While the third one said he thought he stepped back a step.

We see this so much any more, maybe it has always been this way.  If we had all the known history in a book, it would take many a truck to carry all the parts of the book.  I am thinking of my time here.  The history book I had in school covered World War One in great detail.  the history books the kids has today, has maybe a page about the war.  There is very little about World War Two, also Korea.

The stories get shorter as we go back in history of any thing that happened.  In the rewrites and cutting out things, many knows nothing of things that was pounded in the old timers head.  It will be the same of the kids of today. 50 years from now the young whipper snappers will say. Iraq War?? What was that, it isn't in my history book???

I wonder if that isn't what is taking place with all the copy rewrites of the Bible.. People taking out parts, and changing things that they think isn't important.

Oh, getting back to the Boys. Poo  and Tinker.  Both been gone this month of April 3 whole years..SOB, SOB.   And Little Girl came to me the last of the month. She hasn't taken much a liking to the writing just yet.. Got to talk to that gal.  I think she might be thinking about it, not sure.. Girls, you  just don't know what is going on in the mind. Boys is like a open book.

DAY ONE OR DAY TWO

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

I had two very different days recently. The first one was really rough. My body hurt and ached. I felt grouchy and irritable. My pets seemed to be constantly underfoot. My kids were arguing a lot. Everyone I met on the street looked sullen and unfriendly. The sunshine outside even hurt my eyes. The day was so full of stress and worry that I couldn’t even sleep that night.

The second day was wonderful. My body felt energized and healthy. I was laughing and smiling the whole day long. My pets were lovable and affectionate. My children warmed my heart with their kind words and tender hugs. Everyone I saw outside seemed to have a smile and a happy wave to share. The sun peeking through the clouds made my soul light up as well.  The day’s problems were handled easily with humor and joy and I slept like a baby that night.

In truth, however, the only real difference between those two days was me. It was me who made the first day so rotten and it was me who made the second day so glorious. It was me who just idled through the first day grumbling about the world. And it was me who spent the second day thanking God for my life, sharing my love with everyone I could, and giving my joy to the world. I am glad that God forgives me for all the day ones I have had in my life. Thankfully, they are becoming fewer and fewer as time goes on. I am so delighted too that God has given me so many day twos to enjoy and share with others. I hope as well to make every single day I have left in this world a day two kind of day.

What kind of day do you want to live today? What kind of day do you want to live for the rest of your life? Each day here is a glorious gift from God. It is up to us, however, to "rejoice and be glad in it." Don’t just idle through your days then when you can really live them. Don’t just exist in a day one when you can love, laugh, sing, dance, pray, enjoy, and delight in a day two.

Ah, Sweet May

Cynthia Groopman

Ah, sweet May,

Deeply enchanted am I by the joy of each sparkling sunny day.

Enfolded into your arms so fragrant,

Bask, I love to do in your golden sunshine so truly radiant.

Enthralled by your charming personality,

My heart dances and sings majestically.

Your loving caress is so tender,

Full of thoughts of regal splendor.

Very lovely month, you truly are,

Alluring as a fascinating twinkling star.

Love you May with all of my might,

For you are a joy to behold replete with God's magnificent sights.

May's Elegant Face
Cynthia Groopman

Oh, merry month of May,
you display such an elegant face,
that spreads joy and gladness to every place.
Your cheeks are as red and gentle as a beautiful rose,
and you have such a cute little nose.
Your eyes twinkle like dancing stars in the lovely night sky above,
and your radiant smile is like a tender caress of deep love.
For May is as exquisite as a budding flower that regally blooms
as we are enchanted by your sweet fragrant tunes.

A Chorus Of Joy
Cynthia Groopman

As we listen all around,
We are dazzled by the chorus of joy's sweet melodic sounds.
On a delightful spring day,
Musical melodies of merrily chirping birds enchant us,
In a truly majestic way.
Little child shouting with glee,
Is a chorus of happiness in hearts dancing sprightly.
Sweetly singing voices conveying words of praise
Are indeed a chorus of joy exalting God in many loving ways.
Waves swiftly and mirthfully prancing to and fro,
Bask in a bright smile's golden glow.
