Storytime Tapestry Newsletter The newsletter devoted to
spreading love and cultural awareness around the world. Famous People Column – An
open Column for all writers Carol, Here is an old article I almost forgot I had.
Although it has dated by now (by about 2 years), I am hoping you could use it
for your "Famous" People Column. David, who has Cerebral Palsy,
was a quiet baby, born December 23rd, 1971. David was ten when he
discovered his talent for writing greeting card poetry. At 20, his poetry
became about nature, philosophy and eventually God. David, raised Jewish, went to
temple until his Bar-Mitzvah, at age 13. He went to school on Then, his friend Susan became a
born-again Christian, causing him to see the Lord and that He was good.
One day, Friendship Unlimited had a cell meeting at UCP Coram, where David was
invited to pray. He felt his prayers were "half-hearted", but
after joining Friendship Unlimited, his heart was changed. Although he
does not go to church regularly it's through the Friends for Heaven Sake
Newsletter, and Friendship Unlimited (the name of the
church's ministry for disabled people) that he experience fellowship in
cell meetings and is ministered by the plays at Northport Baptist Church (a
multi-faith church). He has a job with Skills
Unlimited in Sincerely, David Fox davidirafox@yahoo.com |
