REAL LIBERATION

We humans experience two kinds of limitations: physical and mental.

I had a remarkable conversation with a woman about physical
limitations.
Nancy was a sufferer of M.S. She could no longer walk and
spent her waking hours in a wheelchair.

"I'm not 'confined' to a wheelchair," she insisted one day. "It
doesn't confine me. It sets me free."

She asked me, "Do you want to know my reason for living?"

"What is it?" I wondered.

"To liberate people. To set them free. Before I got my wheelchair,"
she explained, "I had trouble getting around. Now I can go places!
However I can free people, I want to do it."

"People speak of being 'shut in,'" she continued. "People who are
confined to a room or a house or a bed are not 'shut in.' They're
'shut out' - shut out of activities and shut out of people's lives. So
my mission is to liberate people, to set them free, however I can."

Because of her disease,
Nancy now helps people find ways of gaining
more physical freedom. But we humans suffer from other kinds of
limitations, too. We need liberation from enslaving beliefs and
attitudes.

"Almost everybody walks around with a vast burden of imaginary
limitations inside his head," says J. H. Brennan. "While the burden
remains, personal success is as difficult to achieve as the conquest
of Everest with a sack of rocks tied to your back."

What burden of limiting beliefs and attitudes are you walking around
with? Do you ever say, "I can't do that" or "I can't change this or
that"? Do you ever think that you'll never be able to pursue your
passion or achieve a cherished dream? Do you believe that other people
can experience the good things of life, or simply be happy, but not
you? These patterns of thinking are as much of a burden as a sack of
rocks tied to your back.

Listen to these words from
Darwin P. Kingsley: "You have powers you
never dreamed of. You can do things you never thought you could do.
There are no limitations in what you can do except the limitations of
your own mind."

Okay, certain limitations are a part of life. You may be more able to
see those that are physical. After all, "stinkin' thinkin'" can be
easily hidden. But, as Kingsley says, when you get rid of limiting
attitudes and beliefs, those rocks tied to your back, you'll discover
powers you never dreamed of. You'll do things you never thought you
could do! And you'll be truly free.

Besides an unhealthy mental outlook, what have you got to lose?

Rose Garden
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com

It is said by some that God didn't promise us a Rose Garden. I wonder if the thinkers of such statement ever read the Bible. If I remember right on my little reading of his best selling book of all time. We, that is Adam and Eve was given a garden to care for. The problem was a fellow by the name of Satan helped them to make a general mess of God's Rose Garden.

God did all the making, the planning of a perfect world; a beautiful wonderful world - A Rose Garden. All Adam and Eve had to do was take care of it. Do a little work for 6 days a week, and rest on Sundays. There was plenty of time off to set under a tree and enjoy God's wonderful Rose Garden.

A perfect world was the plan. God had given them everything needed, even sometimes had to show them how to do things. But it didn't take Satan long in showing up. It seems like he is a home wrecker in more than one way. Too bad there weren't a couple lawyers and a judge at the time. I am sure one or both would have filed for a divorce.

Every since those two got the walking papers from God to leave the Rose Garden, times has been kind of tough. The Rose Garden that God made and planned was no more. So I guess some peoples' thinking is right. I still believe God did plan for us to have a Rose Garden without the thorns.

 MOTHERS & FRIENDS

Mary Carter Mizrany

We've shared so many years,
of being mothers & friends;
advice, recipes, prayers galore,
shopping, ballgames ~ trends.

Homework, swimming lessons,
plays, luncheons, team-mothers, more;
ups and downs ~ joys & Sorrows,
ahhhhhh, it's never been a bore.

Skating parties, sleep-overs, birthdays,
vacations just fill'd with fun;
Astroworld was always a thrill,
the shows, the rides, the sun:-)

Now we're sharing grands and greats,
each of them so unique;
their preciousness fills our hearts,
encouraging goals that they seek.

Sharing our deepest secrets,
each confidence we have kept;
had our share of moans & groans
When overwhelm'd we've wept.

I wouldn't trade a single moment,
of these years being mothers & friends;
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, my precious Pat,
praying you a blessing that never ends!

"LOVE BE MY WAY"
Mary Carter Mizrany

LOVE be my way
when I'm tenpted to yield;
to UNlovely thoughts, Lord,
negativeness I feel.

When life~mate disappoints
by indifference and sneers;
close my ears to the harshness
Oh, LOVE, dry my tears.

LOVE speak through me
what my Jesus would say;
let me bring YOU no shame,Lord,
OH, LOVE BE MY WAY!

TRUST be my way
when the news is so bad;
the doctor's reports are
all gloomy and sad.

TRUST in you, dear Lord,
BELIEVE each Word YOU say;
remembering miracles you've given
and still give today!

PRAISE be my way
when that bill's overdue;
help me to remember
there is no lack in YOU!

PRAYER be my way
Your will, Lord, not mine;
show Your strength through my
weakness, my sweet Lord, Divine!

LOVE be my way
when all hell's breaking loose;
when I just want to scream
LOVE give me chocolate mousse:-)
