Storytime Tapestry Charlene: FAMILYWELLNESS@cs.com Dear Friends, I first want to tell you all
thank you for your prayers and support for the last 10 months with my ordeal
with Peaches. Unfortunately, the Judge did not rule in my favor. He
felt that I did not have a preponderance of evidence to show that she
intentionally caused harm to Peaches. Based on that he would not
view any of my documentation from the vet, which showed it was consistent
with the grooming noose. While I am not happy with the verdict I am
thankful that Peaches is alive, we have a justice system that allows us to
stand up for what we believe in and I have friends and family that would do
anything for me. As I looked across the room at the groomer, I realized
that she sat all alone with no support and I realized I did in fact
win. I do not regret speaking up for Peaches and I will not
hesitate to do it again if needed.

outside on my clothes lines. Today was no exception. Late today I went outside to
get everything off the lines. I have a bird feeder at the end of one of the clothesline posts. I didn't look at it as I was
taking a pair of jeans off the line. Suddenly, this little bird
began flapping its wings at me and "cheeping" as it sat on the bird
feeder. I leaned in closer to the
feeder, and there he was, Albert, the lone survivor of the snake attack at our house a few weeks ago. My daughter-in-law had taken
Albert in and fed him with an injector from the vets office she works for. She always fed him
Gerber baby food mixed with water. He loved it. We had hung his bird cage by
the bird feeder the day he was set free. My
daughter-in-law bought the cage for Albert as soon as he was old
enough to perch on a wooden dowel. Several times a day he was fed
the baby food. So I was getting the jeans off
the line, Albert was talking up a storm and then he jumped on my
shoulder. He kept chirping. He then flew off and perched on the edge of the bird cage.
I knew right then and there he was looking for the baby food. I called my daughter-in-law and
told her she better come see her adopted little baby that she was so worried
about the day she set him free. I assured her that day that he would
thrive in the pine trees by the house and he would not forget her. She walked over and the minute
Albert saw her, he went into action. He flew on her shoulder and cuddled
up near her head. I was laughing and said, "He knows what mama raised
him!" She went back to her house and
fixed a little bit of baby food for him, came back, and he saw her coming with
that injector and he was after her again. He was trying to perch on the
clothesline but was having a little bit of trouble so he hung upside down and
opened his mouth to get his food. I was laughing and said he looked like
a bat. What I think is so amazing is
Albert was born a wild bird. He survived the vicious attack from
a moccasin snake. He has been raised by human hands. And he
still likes Gerber baby food. He lives in the pine trees but keeps a
close watch on any of us in the yard. He flies down to greet
them. What started out the day the snake tried to kill him turned out to
be a happy ending for the little guy. I like happy endings. Sharon Bryant 1946@bellsouth.net ~**~**~ The Militia Bill Walker "The text of the
Second Amendment is, 'A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security
of a What part of this, what
word do you not understand, Mr. President, Congress person, Judge, and average
citizen? Let us take this and
reason out a few things. Dan the man Webster says. Militia is a body of
soldiers or men of a certain age that can be tapped for defense. Home guard
duty if you will. Now back in the days
this thing called the Constitution and Bill of Rights was drawn up, it meant
one thing. Most homes, shacks, stores had one thing hanging on the wall.
A rifle of a one shot, ready for use at a minute notice. It was used for one
thing. Get supper in most cases, also to defend the house, the shack, the
store. It became also a weapon to shoot down a Red Coat. An unwanted guest on
this land, that was here to enforce the love of Dear Old The wise men that wrote
the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, knew the value of each and every one
of these one shot guns, where ever it was. They also knew those guns
had bought freedom. With out the men and women that stepped up and took a
few pot shots at that blasted Red Coat, there would have been no thing
called Freedom. Have you ever taken a
look at that picture of the old soldier of 1776? He is standing
there, with his gun; he has one bullet to fire. The gun is ready to fire
that one bullet, he is ready, able and willing if need be to take aim, and
fire. Who were these old
soldiers of 1776? Well they were farmers, people that lived in small towns,
store keepers, just the average people of the land. They had taken the gun hanging
on the wall, and were defending life, home, and family. With out them, there
was no hope of Freedom. So the ones who drew up
the Constitution, the Bill of Rights took all this in account. These wise men,
knew what bought, and paid the price of Freedom. The farmer, the people who
lived in the small towns, the store keeper, these in time of need, grabbed the
gun hanging on the wall, stood together, and fought for Freedom. An armed
Militia was the name. These wise men knew there might be days down the road,
these people called Armed Militia, might be needed again. At the time the
Constitution, the Bill of Rights was drawn up; this young new nation was not
thinking of the days of a couple hundred years, the So Mr. President, Congress person, and Judge, and average
citizen read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights. What gives you the
right to try to go against the laws laid down so many years ago? Nothing
has really changed. People still has the right to have a shooting iron hanging
on the wall, ready for use. Ready to get supper, or defend the house, the
shack, the family for any reason. Any attempt to take a gun out of the hands of a person,
is an attempt to go against the Second Amendment to the Constitution. The
Second Amendment is one of the Amendments called the Bill of Rights. An armed
person is a member of the Militia. A member who may be needed to step up one
more time to defend life, to defend the home, the store, to pay the price of
Freedom one more time. Tinker and Poo; The Boys Write http://www.iuniverse.com/bookstore/book_detail.asp?&isbn=0-595-35741-5 ~**~**~ FIRST, MOST
AND ALWAYS Pamela
Garlick Lately the
Holy Spirit has been pushing me in a certain direction with my writing.
Personally, I was content with what I was doing. But, who am I to question One
who is far wiser than me. Especially One who deserves far more than my simple
obedience in doing something I love. – Yes, using the written word is my tool
to reach people’s emotions. It is my love. But not my
first love. Not even my second, third or fourth. I think you get the picture. Yet, some
of the things I’ve been told to write have been difficult. In tears I’ve obeyed
and know I have done right. This
assignment is no less emotional. However, it’s not one of tears, but of great
joy! I’ve been assigned this by the Great Editor, because there may be one who
doesn’t know the joy of which I am speaking. That one could be very close to
me. Right in my home. My family. Or, my church. As a child
one of the songs I remember most was "Jesus
Loves Me". It brings me great joy when my granddaughter now asks me
to sing it with her. It’s simple words tell it all. Jesus loves
me! Me a sinner. Not only that; He loves you! Yes, you! He loved us
first, most and always! Think about
it. God knew you and loved you before you were even a twinkle in your daddy’s
eyes. Okay, that isn’t the way He put it when he spoke to Jeremiah. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew
you." -- Jer 1:5 Still,
think about it. God loved you before anyone else knew of your existence. He
loved you! And His love is better than any other love there is. He loves you
more than anyone else will ever love you. I mean anyone! Like He
said to Joshua. "I will never
leave you nor forsake you." -- Jos 1:5 That wasn’t
just a promise God made to Joshua to give him confidence in the task ahead. It
is a promise He gives each and every one of us the day we are born, and He
keeps that promise until the day we die. Sure
sometimes we may not sense His presence, or things happen in our lives and we
fail to recognize that God is there in the bad things too. He doesn’t make them
happen. We do! Either ourselves or a person involved in the situation. And,
He’s crying right there with us Sometimes
people ask why God lets these bad things happen in the first place when He has
the power to stop them. That’s perhaps the most asked question about God. Yet,
we fail to realize we don’t have to understand His reasoning. Just know that He
always has a better plan. Besides, we
can’t forget free will. It is what makes us who we are. Without free will we’d
be a pretty boring bunch of people. Maybe boring living in Utopia, but boring
non the less. Think about it, a world where everyone is predictable, a world
where we don’t have to think, because we think what we’re programed to think. A
world filled with robots or androids, not live, thinking, feeling humans. While we’re
on the subject of thinking, think about our emotions more deeply. Isn’t it
emotion that separates us from animals. Emotions help us to grow and learn. We
feel physical and emotional pain and we learn from it. We feel fear as a way to
protect ourselves. And even
when we have emotions like anxiety and sorrow, we learn. We learn to depend on
God. Or depend on ourselves. One of those ways strengthens us. The other weighs
us down. Which one will you choose. So,
basically, God loves us enough to let us make our own choices, even when they
cause us pain, and Him pain. Because remember, I told you, God cries right
along with us. Yes,
sometimes we sadden Him. Sometimes we frustrate Him. And sometimes we even
anger Him. But He is always with us. We just aren’t looking in the right place. How can I
be so sure of this? Well, I’ll tell you. If I was asked to send someone I
loved, my child or grandchild for instance, to die in someone else’s place, I
sure wouldn’t do it. That’s because I’m not capable of the kind of love God is
capable of giving. He gave His son for us, and believe me, none of us is worthy
of that. I won’t
even go into the terrible pain He must have suffered. Remember He was not only
watching the pain that was inflicted on His son, He was feeling it; because, He
and His son are One. And then
there is the third part of His love. The third part of the Trinity. The Holy
Spirit is with us always. All we have to do is accept God’s love, His Son’s
sacrifice made out of love, and ask for the Holy Spirit to live with us and we
will know His wonderful, enduring love always. – Always! Yes, I know
He made that promise. Paul denotes it in his letter to the Romans. But God demonstrates his own love for us in
this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:8 So, now I
ask, how can anyone, knowing this, not feel another emotion. Great joy! Praise be
to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. – Thank you for loving me first,
most and always! Pam Garlick K_P_Garlick@msn.com Storytime Tapestry Angels Angels on earth, they exist they are out there. Angels come in all ages, shapes and sizes,
