Call For Submissions

I am pleased to announce that Storytime Tapestry E-zine, will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary on the lst of September.  I opened this humble publication on September 1, 2003 with 300 of my personal email correspondents.  Today, Storytime Tapestry is read by over 2, 650 people worldwide.

My reason for opening the publication was to provide a place for writers where they could write what was in their heart without the censorship that other publications was implementing at the time.  I did not make word count restrictions or theme requirements.  I wanted the publication to be eclectic and truly innovative.  I published personal stories, poems, advertisements, prayers, birthdays and anniversaries, and anything of interest to the writer and readership alike.

Storytime Tapestry has grown through the years, as I now publish columns and educational information as well.  What has never changed is my love for this e-zine and the love and loyalty I have from my writers and my membership.

I still have many of my original writers.  The two founding writers were Loren Moore, may he rest in peace, and Joe Mazzella.  I cannot say how much these men mean to me.  Without either of them, there would never have been a Storytime Tapestry, or there would have been one but like other publications it would have phased out in time.  Hey, I am a prolific writer but I could not keep a daily going with just my stories.

We started with 3 writers, Loren, Joe, and I and today I have had over 428 writers who have written for me.  I cherish each and everyone one of you.  I have made many friends from the readership as well.  I cherish you all; never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Of course through the years I get emails about how much Storytime Tapestry has meant to a writer or a reader.  Many have formed friendships by way of the newsletter, while others have told me they just can’t imagine having their morning coffee without reading Storytime Tapestry.

As I do a celebration every year, I ask for personal stories about what Storytime Tapestry, or me, or any of the writers have meant to you over the years.  You do not have to be a writer to respond to the celebration September lst issue, just tell us how you feel. It could be just a line or two, or a page or two; the thing is that we want to hear from you.

Here are some ideas:

Friends I have made on Storytime Tapestry

My favorite writers and why I like them so much

How certain stories have changed my life

The best time of day to read Storytime Tapestry for me is:

How Storytime Tapestry has helped me through a rough period in my life

How I grew as a writer through the publication

How I gained exposure as a writer

How Carol and the e-zine has helped me to grow as a writer

The sky is the limit; just tell us about your experience.

I will be publishing any responses I get on Sept 1 and if we get enough responses they will continue into the next issue and beyond.

Carol Roach
