Our  FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - AUGUST 24th—2007

Hart and Helen Dowd

"Love is patient,
love is kind.
May we keep these thoughts in mind."

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, things no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."
I Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV)

"Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres…"(NIV)

Will you still love me when I am old?
When my skin is wrinkled, and I'm always cold?

Will you still love me when my eyes are dim?
When I'm hard of hearing? Will you love me then?

Will you still love me when my knees are gnarled,
When my fingers are feeble and my hair is snarled?

Will you still love me when my mind is not keen?
When I can't remember where I am, or have been?

Will your love still hold if I'm in a wheelchair?
Will you still love me? Will you still care?

Of course I will love you, to the end of time.
I'll always be yours. You will always be mine.

I'll be here for you: you'll be here for me.
We'll grow old together. Just you wait and see!

LOVE WORDS

LOVE is such a precious thing.
It's fragile, and it's rare.
It damages so easily,
So handle it with care.
It's free to those who seek it.
There's enough for all to share.
The more that
LOVE is given out,
The more there is to spare.
************

WORDS can be inadequate—
Too many, or too few.
Sometimes the message comes out wrong,
And hurt and grief ensue.
But there are
WORDS that we can say,
Small
WORDS, with message true.
Such simple
WORDS can mean so much:
These words are:
"I LOVE YOU."

I hope everyone will be able to say, after 50 years together, that "marriages are made in heaven." I know ours was. Through thick and thin, through highs and lows, in sickness and in health, we have been there for each other, and will remain to be in any of the forthcoming years God may allow us to be together. These past 3 years, during Hart's challenging sickness, I have been SO GLAD that I have been there for him. I know he would have been there for me too, had I been the one who lost a limb, due to an infection. Hart remains upbeat and positive, sending out inspirational emails to hundreds of people. I thank God for his wonderful spirit. LOVE is from GOD, for GOD is LOVE.
