Abuse Within the Church

By Joyce C. Lock

Next Time ...

I'm all alone, now,
Don't know what else to do.
Can't look you in the face
'Cause it's all red, black, and blue.

I should have watched my mouth.
I could have done my best.
Next time, I'll be more careful.
I'd better get some rest.

If you see him in the church choir,
Don't tell him you were here.
A wife must be obedient.
Things will be better next year.

~ * ~

Love has no limits.
Abuse has no barriers.
Next time could be the last.

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

If thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Sometimes, divorce is the only life saving option left. Yet some say, "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted,
and become as little children, ye shall not
enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:3

Open Doors

I came to your doorstep, all tattered and torn;
Regretting the day I was even born.

You opened the door wide and said to come in.
You talked of Jesus, said I could trust Him.

I got down on my knees and began to pray,
Still am rejoicing you were there that day.

Your seed has blessed me much more than you know.
I'm giving you thanks by helping it grow.

Someone came to my door, just the other day.
I gladly opened the door all the way.

He that reapeth receiveth wages,
and gathereth fruit unto life eternal:
that both he that soweth and he
that reapeth may rejoice together.

John 4:36

God is light, and in him
is no darkness at all.

The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.

Revelations 19:10

Apply His Blood

I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. Revelation 6:2

The flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself: Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself. And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the Lord. Amos 2:14-16

And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. Revelation 6:4

Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Romans 13:9

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. Revelation 6:5

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Luke 16:13

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:8

Concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. Isaiah 29:22

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. Revelation 6:9

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Galatians 4:29

The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear? Proverbs
18:14 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Romans 8:36 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8:34

How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the
kingdom of God! Luke 18:24 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. Luke 18:17

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. Ecclesiastics 3:18

Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the Lord of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:28

I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Malachi 3:6

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Revelation 16:14

Judge not according to the appearance,
but judge righteous judgment.

John 7:24

Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates.

Zechariah 8:16

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the flood, or the
gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell.
As for me and my house, we choose to serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:15 (par.)

What is October Like?

Cynthia Groopman

October is like smiling splendid sunshine so gentle and bright,

night.

With crystal blue skies by day and radiant moonbeams at

Little leaves sprightly dance and joyfully play,

Dazzling all in a mirthful way.

Changing colors is truly enjoyed by all,

As leaves begin to tumble from treetops and onto the ground they fall.

Pumpkins and apples enchant us with their elegant spectacular hues,

Caressed by golden sun and softly embraced by a vast sky of beautiful blue.

.

Air is fresh, clear and clean,

As God paints a majestic picturesque outdoor scene.

Oh, October,,  we cheerfully welcome you with open arms,

Adoring you for your magnificent charms

Aromas of the Autumn Season

Cynthia Groopman

Aromas of autumn

Are enchanting to me, everyone of them enrich my life majestically.

Rich aromas of dried leaves sprightly dancing to the wind's cheerful beet,

Is indeed a delightful treat.

Apples being picked or baked, are adored so much,

The soft aroma of pumpkins is pleasant and lush.

Autumn sunshine has an aroma, too,

As it radiantly glows in the sky so beautiful and blue.

Thus, the aromas of autumn dazzle me,

That is why autumn is a season full of freshness, splendor and glee.

You
Cynthia Groopman

Lacey sun rays in my sky of life, you splendidly adorn,
with soothing words you fill my spirit when I am sad and mourn.
You hold my hand with such a loving grasp,
and my requests you grant me, when I ask.
You kindle a torch of hope deep in my soul,
enabling me to strive high and to attain my goal.
You fill my soul with renewal and elation,
as I'm triumphant and bask in the rainbow of celebration.
For you are the Exalted one, blessed shall you always be,
dear God, You bathe my soul in joy and tranquility.
So all to you I can say,
is thank you for being with me each and every day.
For my love to You transcends ageless time,
And you shall always be my best friend and a savior of mine.

Roaring Thunder
Cynthia Groopman

The thunder roars with such hostile rage,
with fierceness like a lion that is suddenly bolting from its cage.
Drum, drum, drum, is all I hear,
and my heart shudders with fright and fear.
Waking me up from sleep, the roar of thunder is full of fright,
ranting and rampaging like uncontrolled wolves in the stormy night.
What should I do, and what shall I say,
oh, I wish that the roaring thunder would just go away.
