Amazing
Grace

I was reading the history of the writing of this masterpiece. John
Newton's history reminds me of another man that we read about in the
Bible. Newton had been raised on
the Bible, his mother had hopes that he
might become a preacher. But when he left home, he turned to a
rough tough life. He took up about any and all sins of the world. He
could shock almost any one, even those that was sunk deep in sin
with their life style. His life style was so low, that if there was a
sub basement in a sub basement of a out house, he would have still been
deeper. His thoughts, his words, his actions was as low as low could
get.
One night on a slave ship, that he was master of, while on the high
seas, They were in real rough times. The ship was in a storm, in
danger of sinking, It was a dark night, the only light was the cracks
of lighting. The waves were almost deck high, the ship was nearly
swamped by the waves at times. The crew was wondering if all was
lost. The slaves on board, chained in the hole of the ship, were in
worse shape.
We have John Newton, deep in all the great sins of the world, as master
of this ship. He saw the light. He found God that night, and we have the
writing of that great song we sing and hear today. Amazing Grace.
His life did a complete turn around, he gave up the slave trade, and in
time became a preacher. God had a use for him, plucked him from the
deep so to speak, and put him to work for God.
Now I wrote there is another man we read about in the Bible. Take your
Bible, read. Acts. chapter 4. You will find the man named Saul. Saul
had done every thing he could, and had plans for more things to do
against this man named Jesus, also the followers of this man Jesus.
Saul was a most hated man of Christians. That is he was feared by
Christians. He was out to destroy any one that he came upon that was of
the following of this man named Jesus. He was much like John Newton
in that respect.
Saul, we later know him as Paul, become a writer of many books in the
New Testament of the Bible. A great worker for God, and Jesus. Yes
two men, who had to be taken down a few pegs, to do great things for
God.
God's Amazing Grace saved a wretch like me. No truer words spoken. We
are saved by nothing but God's Amazing Grace.

The Creation
Conrad S. Cardinal
Have you looked at Gods creation,
beauty all around.
Trees grow abundantly in the fertile
ground.
Sky so blue, clouds so white,
peaceful to the eye, making things
right.
Rolling hills, grass so green, like
walking on a cloud.
Flowers growing every where,
standing straight and proud.
Their fragrance so pleasing to savor.
You can almost taste their flavor.
The wind moves through the trees,
singing its song.
It calms the restless spirit as one
walks along.
Indeed God has blessed us in a
special way.
The sun that rises each morning
and warms us through the day.
How about the moon that lights
the night.
The stars in the midnight sky,
shinning so bright.
Rivers, streams, lakes and oceans
magnificent to see .
All this God created just for you
and me.

Gifts
Conrad S. Cardinal
Consider the wonder of creation.
God has given us all we need
without hesitation.
It's magical, functioning perfectly
each day.
The sun, moon and stars, an
amazing array.
The majesty of the mountains,
an awesome sight.
Flowers planted by Gods hand,
colors so bright.
Streams and rivers flowing, each
sustaining life.
Listen to their calming sound,
forget the daily strife.
Gods love is all around, why ask
for more?
Why not take a moment and knock
on heavens door.

The Source
Conrad
S. Cardinal
We think that we are brilliant, look
at all we do.
We're capable of amazing feats;
this seems true.
All of these inventions, more coming
everyday.
It seems we're getting smarter,
wouldn't you say?
I wonder what would happen if God
turned off the light?
If he stopped the flow of knowledge
and made us walk in the night.
I believe God is the source of all
we survey.
Things would be much better if we
didn't get in the way.
