For my Friend Greg Hampton and his battle with the big C

B. J. Cassady

You never know when the time will come to say good-bye.

When the last farewell will need to be said, when the last

embrace will be held.

You never know when the last tear will fall, when the last

laugh will fall silent....

You never know when the knock upon the door will cease.

You never know when the last sunrise will appear.

You never know when the last sweet smell of rain will

freshen your senses.

To all these ends, to all these ends.  Say the things that must

be said.  Do the things that must be done.  Meet your maker

with your heart unfolded for Him to care.  Because you never

know when you will say Good-bye....

   Jesus Wept
Bill Walker
Missouri's@yahoo.com

John 11;35. Jesus wept. the shortest verse in the Bible. Have you
ever thought about what is written here? If one reads the words, the
lines, the verses before and after, you may get it that Jesus was
weeping for the death of Lazarus. I wonder if one isn't missing a
point here?

Jesus had waited 4 days to come to the grave. Jesus know what was
before, Jesus knew what was now, Jesus knew what was yet to come.

Jesus came to prove many things. He stood there in a crowd of non
believers. Oh they believed to a point. If you read one said if only
he, Jesus had been there before the death of Lazarus, he,
Lazarus would still be alive.

Jesus wept because of those of little faith, this I believe is the
reason for his tears. These could not understand that Jesus had came for
one reason. To destroy death, that is for believers. He came to give
ever lasting life. Sure the body will some day die, but the soul
lives. Jesus came to give ever lasting life in Heaven for the believers.

Jesus knew, he could have came sooner while Lazarus was yet alive, could
have taken away the sickness. He came to prove that death is not the
end, he had the power to remove death. This was a mission he was on,
this was one more thing to prove to the non believers.

Sure he may have wept because of Lazarus, but he was also weeping
because of the non believers. This I believe.

Jesus came to give ever lasting life. At the time of raising of
Lazarus, his own time was coming in a very short time. His date with
the cross was near. His death on the cross, his three days in the
tomb, and then his victory over death.

1 Corinthians 15;55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave. where is thy
victory? Now once again, don't just read one verse. Go before and
after, learn more. Study what is written. Study, and think.

GETTING THINGS DONE

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

Every now and then God gently taps you on the shoulder and reminds you of what life is all about. I got just such a tap the other day. It was a day when there was too many errands to run, too much work to do and not enough time in the day to do it. I was rushed, stressed, and irritable. I even snapped at my kids to hurry up and get ready for school as I worried about how I was ever going to get everything done that day.

It was then, however, that I got my gentle tap on the shoulder. Actually, it was more of a one two punch from my furry friends. As I stood there frowning with worry and tensed up with stress I felt a sticking in my left leg. At the same time my right hand suddenly felt warm and wet. I looked down and found one of my cats with her claws on my knee looking up with that scratch my head look in her eyes. When I turned to my right I saw my drooling Saint Bernard nuzzling in for a few pets himself. I smiled at my loving, furry friends and at the same time heard God’s gentle voice in my mind saying: "You are not here to get things done. You are here to love."

I thanked God for the reminder as the stress disappeared and the worry faded away. I gave each of my kids a hug before heading out to start the day. I still had a lot to do, of course, but now I did it with a smile on my face. I sang joyously along with the music in my car as I ran my errands. I did my work at home happily and easily taking several breaks to pet my dogs, hold my cats, look at the Fall leaves, and to tell God just how much I loved Him. I got everything done with time to spare and most importantly I did it all blissfully, peacefully, and lovingly.

The next time that the stress of getting things done starts to build up inside you then take a break and remember why you are really here. In the end it is the love we share, the joy we spread, and the happiness we create that matters. Those are the things God wants us to get done.

An Ode To The Month Of November
Cynthia Groopman

A Brown carpet of leaves covers the cold ground,
as the wind swirls and tosses them round and round.
Old Sol has a doleful face with a sad frown,
because he has to go to bed earlier at
4 P.M. when it is sundown.
You are the month of Election Day,
as we cast our ballots and voice our choice in a democratic way.
We feast and thank God as we joyfully celebrate Thanksgiving Day,
rejoice and glowing in every way.
As we begin to do our holiday shopping we hustle and bustle all about,
when children laugh and happily shout.
But November is indeed most meaningful to me,
because that is my parent's wedding anniversary.
November is a transition from autumn to winter, as you already know,
and in a few weeks we will be dazzled by soft white falling snow.
Dear November, on the first day of your month, I gleefully say "hi,"
and on the 30th, I sadly bid you a fond good-bye.

What is November Like

Cynthia Groopman

November is like a clock with a confused look on its frownful face,

As so many changes are taking place.

Coldness sharply enfolds us into freezing arms,

As we are dazzled by autumn leaves colorful charms.

November is like a ballot box filled with many choices,

For we are given freedom to raise our political voices.

Shaped like a turkey on Thanksgiving Day,

November is full of festivity, fellowship and good food experienced on Thanksgiving Day.

We drink from gratitude's sweet fountain with zest,

Saluting the veterans who gave their lives and were truly the best.

Darkness descends early as November marches on,

Daylight savings time is bid farewell and gone.

Oh, November, you are a transition between autumn and winter's hello,

Let us smile and joyfully bask in November's autumn cheerful glow.

 Remembering Grandma
Cynthia Groopman

As I was comfortably nestled in my bed,
Suddenly, I felt a gentle caress being place onto my forehead.
Then a soft loving hand touched my face,
And I began to be enveloped into warm tender embrace.
Oh, my grandma's presence was spiritually felt by me,
As my heart began to dance and sing joyfully.
For grandma dear, it was 28 years since you passed away,
And how I cried and grieved for your loss on that day.
You were indeed another mother to me,
Encouraging me to be strong, king and happy.
I know that you are watching over me from heaven above,
Showering me with gifts and blessings of your eternal love.
For you were my best friend, role model and inspiration too,
And I shall forever treasure and deeply cherish you.

Please Forgive Me
Cynthia Groopman

Please forgive me, dear friend,
With each apologetic sentiment, our friendship, I shall try to mend.
Harmful wrong, I did not mean to do,
Nor did I want to anger or annoy you.
Of course, I like you and do really care, And with my heartfelt apologies,
I shall share.
Let us cast aside any grudges or misgivings, For God teaches us to be
kind and forgiving.
For, dear friend, I truly love you,
And these words come from my heart and are of course true.
