Today’s Announcement

 Dear Prayer warriors:

Join me in lifting up Matt's mother to the Lord, Lord we ask for your divine intervention

for her to go willingly to the hospital and for the medical staff to take an interest in

getting a diagnosis and the appropriate treatment.  We claim this now in the mighty

name of Jesus...  Amen & Amen

Love to all,

Barbara

I just got a call from Matt, he is taking his mom to the hospital by ambulance.  This will be something, as she refuses to go, but she may be so sick now that she has no strength to resist anymore.

She is vomiting and not keeping down any food or liquids.

When he gets there I told him to tell them that his brother is the chief of staff of the veteran's hospital in Baltimore and that he examined her and found a lump he believes to be cancerous.  Otherwise they may not even look, thinking she has the flu or something and send her home.

I will keep you all posted if I get any more word.

Carol Roach

Today’s Christmas Stories

Jesus and Santa

Bill Walker

missourisage@yahoo.com

Well here it is getting to the time of year for Christmas. Time for the many stories people come up with on and about Jesus, and this fellow name of Santa. First off lets get one thing clear.  The reason for the season is Jesus. The date of his birth to come and walk among people.  We are not sure of what date this happened, so a day was somewhere in time picked. And we have Christmas, now we got that out of the way.  Remember with out Jesus there would have never been Christmas.  So there fore Jesus has to be the reason for the season.

Now then this guy name of Santa, just who is this faker?  But wait a minute here, there is a Santa Claus. I have met the man, and I knew he was a good man. I kind of remember him, it has been so long ago that the meeting took place, but I will always remember the man, even if the face, the real name I have forgot.

There is something about this fellow Claus.  You see he can also be a she. In either case can be slim, can be a  bit on the heavy side, also some comes tall, some come short. Some comes with a happy look, on the other hand some even looks kind of grumpy at times. A real Santa has a soft heart most of the time.

This Santa is real, he/she lives as sure as any thing. Oh we get lots of stories about different things.  That may be a cover up, as we really don't know the house he/she lives in.  But Santa lives somewhere, down the street, cross town, around the corner, somewhere yes Santa lives.  It may as well be the North Pole, heck we might be wrong, could be the South Pole.

You see the Santa Claus I am thinking of is any one that reach out to touch some other person life.  It can be a drop of a few coins in the little red kettle. It can be a smile, it can be a kind word when one is needed. It can be in lots of different forms, at different times of the year. Don't really have to be Christmas time.

I wish in closing of this yarn to say one more thing.  Thanks Mr. Santa Claus of Sikeston, Missouri for the little red wagon and other gifts so many years ago. I have forgot your real name, but I am sure God remembers what you did.  God Bless your soul. Yes there is a Santa Claus.

  Can’t Take Christmas

Joan Clifton Costner

Lord,

As long as stars shine down on us,

Or rivers flow to sea;

As long as evergreens stand tall,

And birds sing in the Spring;

As long as children’s laughter

Brings a smile to any face;

There is a time when ‘all at once’ we

Remember God’s great grace.

While mountains stand majestic;

While sunsets take our breath,

While geese fly at the seasons and

Birds build intricate nests;

They can’t take Christmas from us,

For each heart born anew,

Will recognize and cherish

The things sent us by You.

Each time we see a little lamb ~

Or hear a baby’s coo;

The fragrance of the new mown hay,

Will bring remembrance too.

And then, at last, deprived of ‘sights’

That men would take away,

We’ll just search all the more

For treasures unique to that day....

When You reached down from Heaven ~

Laid a baby at Man’s door...

We’ll find that Christmas just lasts longer

Than it ever... has.... before!

 Our Boys are Coming Home

(Christmas Furlough)

 Joan Clifton Costner

A silver streak, up in the sky,
Lumps in our throats; tears in our eyes. ~
Oh, wave those colors up, so high!
Our boys are coming home!

We form a line, with space between,
Where walk the brave hearts; young and keen.
Mid shouts of “Welcome Home!” we see,
Our boys are coming home!

There’s not a solitary frown,
E’en when they bend to kiss the ground.
The stars and stripes wave and abound,
Our boys are coming home!

We clutch our chests and weep the more
For those left, on that distant shore,
Whose hearts ache while they wage the war.
Soon, they’ll be coming home!

Oh, land of freedom, peal the bells
And pray, as Christmas music swells,
'Til all our brave men history tells.
Our heroes, come on home!
