Storytime Tapestry Newsletter The newsletter devoted to
spreading love and cultural awareness around the world. Today’s Announcement Today and tomorrow is the Russian
Orthodox Christmas. Merry Christmas to
all my orthodox members. Although we appear to be behind in the
Christmas Contest entries we are on schedule. We are finishing up with the last
of the poems today. And I will be
sending out the Christmas poem contest rules a little latter today. A hearty welcome goes out to our newest
writer for Storytime Tapestry. Janelle McCarthy becomes writer # 451 for
Storytime Tapestry and we are glad to have her, please email her and welcome
her to this wonderful rainbow family. The Latest on Matt’s Mom is that she has
kidney stones. She is on morphine and has been in
excruciating pain now for over two weeks.
It is just inhumane as far as I am concerned. The hospital expects her
to linger like this until the stone passes.
This is an elderly woman who is in pain.
It just does not seem right to me. Please continue to pray
from her recovery. Don’t forget to order your copy of
Angels Watching Over Me, the story of an ordinary woman facing less than
ordinary challenges. Angels Watching
Over Me is a story of family love, sacrifices, poverty and an undying faith
that makes heroes out of all of us. Here is the link in case you have forgotten
it: http://www.lulu.com/content/964306 Important notice: Storytime Tapestry is a

Christmas Eve and we should all be in joyful anticipation of what tomorrow may
bring. When my
children were young I wondered how I could make the message of Christmas a bit
more simple for them to understand. On
Christmas Eve we would get together to bake a cake, a birthday cake to be
exact. I am not a skilled baker so it was not perfect or beautifully
decorated, but on the top I would make sure to write "Happy Birthday
Jesus". Then, at
what ever unbelievably early hour my children woke up to see if Santa had
arrived, I would remind them to first go get the cake. We would light the
candles on top and sing loudly our rendition of Happy Birthday to
Jesus. And when
we were done singing, I would very quietly remind them how good and generous
Jesus must be that on His birthday we are the ones
to get gifts. It was
heartwarming to see that at least some of the wonder in their eyes was not for
the presents under the tree. My
children are all gone this year for Christmas but I still think it is time for
me to go bake a cake. Merry
Christmas! Janelle
