Killers and Fame
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com

I was reading about how these mass killers would like to be remembered. These have the thought? if I can take a number of people with me, I will be remembered. I was so brave in what I did. Well sorry half wit, that may be so, it sure takes guts to shoot down
helpless people. But I am sure there is not one of they have the nerve to stand against someone with means of defense, like a gun in their hand.

The punk wanted to go in the history book, he killed 8 people. He thought he would be remembered. Well I guess that might be the case. People do remember the name for some time. Us that lived the nightmare days and nights of many years ago, remembers the punk Charlie Starkweather here in
Nebraska. I am sure most people?forgot the ones he and his girl friend killed. I can kind of remember a couple names, the Wards, and her people, the others I would have to look those up. I also remember the name of the man that murdered a Missouri Highway Patrolman. Sweet, he sure was not a sweet person. What was
the name of the patrolman, I have forgotten?

For some reason the killers are remembered, I think it is because the news people keep the public informed on what goes on at the time, and then for a long time after that. ? In both cases I named here. Sweet, and Starkweather, there was the court cases. Charlie
got his date in the hot seat pretty quick. Sweet boy fought every inch of the way, and lived for a few years, not long but a few years, I think it took about 5 years.

There was another case I remember in
Kansas City. A murder of a child. A rich man's boy. Yes I remember the name in this case. The case was called the Greenlease murder, there fore I do remember. The killers, you know I forgot the names. Now in this case. Missouri didn't let any grass grow. Once the couple had been found, there was a quick day in the court, found guilty, and right to the gas chamber. I don't think there was any time wasted. To top it off Missouri did them on the cheap side. They put two chairs in the little room and took them both out in style same time.

Today, a case is drawn out over years. Then comes at last the time to rid the earth of the bums, and once again we get more splash about the poor worthless soul. By this time we? forgot the poor soul this trash way laid on a dark stormy night The poor soul that was living a normal life, had family, had a place in this life, living and trying to live as
God would have us live. But no their life was taken with out a judge, a jury, and a lawyer defending their right to live.

In the case of the 8 good people who's lives were taken that day in the mall, those will be remembered by their families, and maybe others, but then the mass of people will soon forget. While for a long time people will remember the name of the dirt bag that was so brave holding a shoot them up rifle. The thing is in his case, he never lived, he was a coward, took his own life, and thank God at least he did one thing right. Sure saved the tax payers lots of money, and got his worthless soul on the way to Hell where he can enjoy the fruits of his labors. How long will we remember his name? Well it will fade in awhile. You see if he had not taken his life, we would have been blessed with hearing about him for at least 20 years while
Nebraska tried to figure what to do with him. Court costs, lawyer costs, and don't forget the ones saying he has a mental problem They get big bucks also, and dad gum it all he was nuts in some fashion, and it is our job to show cause.

I understand
Missouri like most other states, has a memorial in the Capitol with the names of ones that gave their life in serving the people of the state. These should have a place, not the ones that want to be of some fame by what they did. We should never forget the few that gave all for the good of all. The ones who wore, Blue, Gray, Brown, or what ever color of the few, the proud and the brave.

An Update on the Greenlease Case

?

Bill Walker

?

I got thin information from Jene Lind who lives in Missouri near St. Louis.
?
Hey the couple who murdered the Greenlease boy was Carl Austin Hall and Bonnie Brown Heady.

Also my friend and neighbor who died about 6 yrs. ago was the widow of the FBI agent that turned in Louis Shoulders, (the cop in
St. Louis the couple gave half the ransom too, to hide them in the Coral Courts Hotel. Yes, he was caught too, but some of that money has never been found. Yes, Mr. Herbert Moss was a hero in those days, but he died just being a first cousin to my foster mother, and husband of my very good friend, who became even a better friend after he died at age 82. Also he was a Juvenile judge then
a Probate Judge at the time of his death. He never retired.

If you ever get the book, "The Greenlease Case" Or "Bobby Greenlease" you will see Mr. Moss cracked that case.

PROVE IT

Dr. Harmander Singh

"Do you love me?? he asked his friend.

"Yes,? he replied.

"How can you prove it?? he asked rudely.

"I can not prove it. Can I?? he replied.

"But you have to prove it,? he asked.

"Tell how I can prove it?? the friend asked.

"Why did you say that do not bother about me?? he asked rudely.

"Do you bother about me?? the friend questioned.

"Yes, I do,? he said.

"Prove it,? the friend said.

"I always try to give all that I?ve; I always give you the best in the world. I always spoke on your behalf to everyone. I always praised you among people. I always wanted to support you in everything. Is not it a proof that I love you?? he asked with a great satisfaction.

"I thank for all that good thoughts, wishes and actions. However, have you ever thought if you have helped me to be what I am? Just think it seriously,? the friend requested to him.

"I can not really answer these questions,? he replied.

"To be what you're with me and with yourself is the proof that you love me. Is not it?? the friend replied.

"I'm sorry. I realize that I forgot to remember that you've your own privacy, individually and personal life which is beyond others' eyes and it is also beyond proof,? the friend regretted.

They looked into each other's eyes and it that they were friends.

Daily Moral Insight for a Peaceful Night

Is not an innocent question when we know the answer?

Are not we having blessings with subtle interactions, which are beyond any proof?

Is not it an innocence when we try to prove human relations with words of what we do for others when others know and realize it without our saying so?

Are not we having the touch of appreciation when we accept others as they are while having friendship with them or even without it?

Is not the greatest beauty of life that each one of us is having is a unique expression of existence?

?Snowstorm Please go That-a-Way

Cynthia Groopman

?

Snowstorm, please go that-a-way,

?

Do not annoy us and spoil our two weekend days.

You like to show off your glorious white,

Sitting indoors, through our windows, we marvel at our beautiful sight.

?

But we all have plans, places to go and people to see,

Please stay away from me.

We do not want to shovel and clean,

We love a weekend pleasurable and serene.

We do not want to slip and slide,

Nor be bored and stay inside.

So, snowstorm please go that?a way,

Oh, how I yearn for the arrival of a truly beautifully enchanting radiant spring day.

Negative Weather Reports

Cynthia Groopman

?

Constantly on radio and television, we are given repeated negative weather reports,

Evoking feelings of disappointment and anxiety thoughts.

We know that?in the winter it is supposed to snow,

So, why must the media make?an annoying fuss and show.

Years ago we had bad weather,

?

Reassured in a calm way that all will clear up and will turn out better.

But we were.

It seems to me

That during stormy weather, the news reporters and weather forecasters are smiling, gloating with glee.

.

They are making extra money,

Laughing with each other, in a nice warm studio and acting

humorous and funny.

We are all mature to understand and to realize,

?

That in December a snowstorm is no headline surprise.

All I ask for, is objectivity,

?

So I may be embraced into the arms of tranquility.

Slip and Slide

Cynthia Groopman

?

On a snowy and icy morning, all we do is slip and slide,

Treacherous walking it is outside.

A sheet of glass we shall meet,

Grumbles is all we hear on the street.

Indeed, it reminds me of an ice skating rink,

To my childhood, I nostalgically think.

A trip to Rockefeller Center, I like to remember,

Which was the highlight of the holiday season years ago in the month of December.

.

Thus, what I dislike most about winter is the ice,

When it is necessary to walk slowly, watch every step and paying attention and thinking twice.
