Today’s Announcement

 Dear Friends

Once again I want to thank each of you who sent greetings to Hart. He was pleasantly surprised to see the sheaf of emails I handed him....I may not get time to send an update every day, but I will try to send one as often as I can.

I was pleased to see that the swelling had gone down in his leg. Having his leg propped up on a 2' wedge doesn't look very comfortable, but it must be working. It still is very red, but with I.V.'s every 12 hours for the next 2 weeks, I should hope it will kill that BUG. He is in very good spirits, and although I miss having him at home, I am glad he is there where he will receive all the professional help that they can give him. ...........Corky got all excited as soon as I turned the corner and started down the last block to the hospital. He knew where we were going and could hardly wait until I went back to the van to get him, after getting Hart settled.  And, like Rocky, he jumped up on Hart's bed, snuggling in for a cuddle. It's like he knows that he has taken Rocky's job of guardian of his master. He is a great little companion. He has made a big hit with the hospital staff...Helen hmdowd@telus.net

WHY YOU OUGHT TO BE HAPPY ALWAYS (October 2007)

By Georgewaters Ojeigbe – Lagos, Nigeria gojiegbe@oregun.jhplc.com

Sometimes, it could be wonderful how others view your personality.  Your personality matters to your existence.

I visited a co-worker a day ago and we talked about some official matters.  After the discussion he took my email address.  By the time I returned to the office I received an email from him which reads, “How are you enjoying yourself today in this wonderful working environment? You are always the happiest person here, even if the poll is conducted 100 times more, the result will remain the same. So what’s the secret? Just joking, cheers!”

After I read the above quote, I thought over it.  Initially, I wanted to discard it but I remembered a quote in the bible which says that out of the “abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”.  So I though of using my response as stated below evangelize to him.

The secret of always being happy is to have it in mind that:

1.)    you should always have a love song singing in your heart

2.)    we are all humans and equal by birth,

3.)    we all have the right to exist,

4.)    take others to be in your position,

5.)    know that other humans also have feelings, pains, hopes and dreams,

6.)    know that the body which decide for most people has a final place (dust to dust – soil) be it rich or poor,

7.)    always have faith in Jehovah Lord God through His begotten son Jesus Christ.

Finally, we are facing a situation which must surely be faced by our generation.  You should understand that the only way out is to go the opposite way of the world.  The world wants to see you sad, mourn, depressed etc, but if you truly understand life itself, you can prove yourself wiser than a depressed world system through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Man and His Thoughts
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com

After the construction of the Titanic, a reporter asked the builder how safe the Titanic would be. With a sarcastic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it" The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

There are many great people who has had thoughts on the same line. That Is look what I have done, and I did it all my self. There is nothing that can derail my well laid plans.

If we read in the Bible there was a man much on the order of the fellow that drew up the plans for the Titanic. He was a very important man we read about in the Bible. He was a great King. The name is Nebuchadnezzar. Now old
Neb had been kicked down a little from time to time, and learned about the one we call God. One would think after a
few kick downs on things he tried to do, he would have learned something. But no he got it in his mind, every thing he did or thought of was just great. Look at all I have, and how much power I have. I did it all on my own. People better do as I say or it is a trip to the furnace, or lions den for them. Well one day he found he lost it all. His worldly goods were no more, he was out in the field eating grass, like an animal. He didn't know the time of day, in fact he didn't know anything. His mind was gone. Yesterday, he had a great mind, much power, and worldly goods. Today nothing, it all was taken in a
flash.

We may think we did something, we have so much, we are so smart, we have it all, but do we? One can work all their life, and think at last they have gained the mountain top, only to find out it's lost.

The man that drew up the plans, and built the Titanic, forgot the power of God. He may have worked night and day on the plans, and the plans was followed to the letter. But there was the unknown factor. The unknown factor in this case was God who makes ice bergs. And the iceberg can sink a ship, even God can't sink. I am just using the words the
man said. Never say God can't do something. In this case he made the ice. A chunk of ice broke off, and set sail to meet up with an unsinkable ship made by man. The ship lost the war, it is now along with the great man that drew up the plans, at the bottom of the sea.
The ice berg sailed on.

There has been other great ships built that are now at the bottom of the water some where. I remember a battle in World War Two. A great warship in company with another battle wagon, and three smaller warships set out one day from
Germany. The German Admiral boasted, there never has been such a fleet to set sail with so much power. There is nothing that can stand up to the power of these five ships. The Bismark was the big ship.

England sent out the pride of dear old England The Hood, and the Prince of Wales to do battle. One shell from the Bismark, and the pride of dear old
England blew up. Prince of Wales turned and ran.

Bismark sailed on, but the British dogged it, thanks to an American who spotted it in the fog. Then old, out dated planes with torpedoes made a couple hits on it. It was out of control on it's path of travel. Soon other warships made hits on it. Wasn't long till the great ship went to the bottom along with the man who said never was a more
powerful fleet to sail, nothing could stop him and his fleet. Never say never. There is always God to have his say.

Let Us Gather Together

Cynthia Groopman

Let us gather together singing a cheerful song,

Rejoicing and paying homage to God in a voice mirthful and strong.

Let us gather together, and join hands,

As we pray for peace, brotherhood, love and joy in each and every land.

Let us gather together with smiles on our faces,

As we enfold one another in fellowship embraces.

Let us gather together in friendship joy and prayer,

As we extend a helping hand, and a heart full of tender loving care.

January's Deep Freeze

Cynthia Groopman

Oh, January does enfold us tightly into a deep freeze and tight icy grip,

As the sidewalks are covered with snow, not being careful we can trip.

With winds so harsh and shrill that incessantly blow,

January's deep freeze has a weak sunshine glow.

Temperatures of twelve degrees during the day,

Adds to discomfort as we traverse life's highway.

Trees are bare,

Prancing about in heavy clothing, we look like stuffed turkeys going here and there.

January's deep freeze, I do not appreciate or adore at all,

For my favorite seasons of the year are the spring and the fall.

January's Promise

Cynthia Groopman

January has a promise s so very special for both you and for me,

For she is the queen of newness, as she sits on the throne of dreams majestically.

.

A time for beginnings and resolutions that we shall make,

We pray that fulfilling them will not be a mistake

Of goals and rainbows, we shall mirthfully think,

For out of the fountain of hope we shall drink.

Prayers are said to God above,

To fill our hearts with our desires with guidance caring and love.

For what we are promised in January, shall be come a reality at the end of the year,

As we bask in the golden sunshine of achievement's joyful cheer.

For optimism will flourish in our garden of life,

With faith in god, our dreams will become realities, dancing in a heart, soul and mind, devoid of fear, torment or strife.

Story Feedback

Bill I really liked this story------------------until you got to the point of not being able to count on friends to stay friends.  That’s depressing.  That old coin really didn’t do that much for you beyond taking you on imaginary journeys of perhaps.      Seems to me you have an awful lot of friends. Cheer up

Louise

Christmas and Halloween – Joyce C. Lock: If imagination traveled on truth, we would be barren and there would be no dreams.  Louise

Joyce's article can certainly open several cans of worms.

I could write a book in what I believe about the holidays but I will
only write several sentences.

I love the face of a pretty Santa Clause so I have several figurines.

I believe that Halloween is Satanic and I do not participate in it at
all.  However I do put out faceless pumpkins to honor the gathering of
the harvest in the fall.

I believe in the Virgin birth of Christ who is my Savior.  The Bible
does not tell us to remember his birth, although it was prophesied in
the Old Testament as well as his death. The New Testament tells us to
remember HIM in death.---"Do this in remembance of me".   I do not give
candy of any kind at Easter nor do I put out rabbits or chicks.  Some
people will put out the chicks and rabbits for the springtime.

GOD made all of us.  He deals with each one of us differently.  Thanks,
Joyce, for giving us your insight to your beliefs. Tennie

Joyce, please continue your pursuit of courage, love, and truth, as you are now doing,  even when ten-thousand voices tempt you to be cowardly, unkind, or even deceptive.
