Peace and Good Will
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com

Please take your dusty Bible and read Luke, chapter 2. verse 14. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Have you ever taken these few words, and really read them and thought about what is said in just these few words?

If you remember, Adam and Eve did the sin, we all are covered in the sins of every day living. No one is perfect, all have sinned and there is a price for sin.

Peace and Good Will. God is now giving mankind a second chance. God is in those few words, with what the Angel is saying here you now have a second chance. God is going to forgive you, by sending his Son, Jesus to remove the sins. Now if you remember, when Adam and Eve did the first sin, a poor animal was killed to cover the sin. The blood
of a poor animal who did not do any sin what so ever, paid the price of Adam and Eve's sin. The poor animals since that day, has paid the price of sins. Just what and why does a poor animal have to do with the sins of mankind ?? I know of no animal that broke the laws of God. It is mankind that has fractured, and bent, and broken the laws of
God.

God offered the olive branch one more time, complete with a dove.  Here, take this Peace offering, it is free for the taking, and I will throw in my Good Will at no extra charge. God is making an offering here. You get Peace, and Good Will. Take the Son, I am willing to forget, and forgive mankind for their sins. Just take the Son in
Peace and Good Will.

What a gift. Mankind fractured, bent, and broke ever law laid down by God. Yet God makes an offer of Peace and Good Will. It should be the other way around.

Do you wonder why the animals were at the manger that night? The animals knew the Son was born. The Son that has now come to take their place on paying the price of mankind's sins.

Yes think of what those few words said by the Angels that night meant. Peace and Good Will toward men. God's gift of every lasting Life in Heaven. All one has to do is read what is written, and believe.

John 3:16. For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.

God in those few words, sent you and me, Peace and Good Will. God was forgiving us of our sins. A second chance.

 ALL THE CLOCKS (October 2007)

By Georgewaters Ojeigbe – Lagos, Nigeria gojiegbe@oregun.jhplc.com

I had waited late before facing my bathroom door to take a shower.  It was a hot sunny Saturday afternoon and I had finished my homework before embarking on a long enjoyable nap in my sitting room.  I got up from the rug where I laid to look at the wall clocks in my sitting room which read 5:24 p.m. to be precise.  The wall clocks are about four in number.  Did I hear you say that’s crazy?  I am having many clocks around because I always want to be sure of the actual time and to save me the stress of looking backward or tilting my head to the right or to the left.

Apart from the wall clocks in the sitting room, there are other clocks in the house too like the one on the video player, the music sound system display clock, the TV clock and radio display clock.

I have not counted the ones at the balcony, corridor, kitchen, bathroom/toilet and finally, the ones in the bedrooms.  If I had which means they would be numbering close to ten at home (a lot crazy idea unh).  Wait a minutes, I have not included the clock on my mobile phone handset.   Ah, I have remembered another clock, the very common ones, that’s the wrist watches which are about three in number.  Then there are some decorative clocks; one on the TV, one on the antic shelf, one on another book/antic shelf and one on one of the loud speakers of the sound system.

To be precise, all the watches, apart from the ones on my handset and wrist watches were all given to me either by inheritance or as gifts.

Well, there is one peculiar clock which went off three times before the denial of Jesus Christ.  In the days gone by, it used to be the only speaking clock.  When it crows it meant time.  But in a new world of today nobody pay attention to that red colored fowl whose I believe the word ‘clock’ was derived from.  Through centuries, it name remains Mr. Cock the fowl.

Finally, there is the original clock which its value is fast fading due to the advancement in technology.  This original clock used to wake us as soon as the inbuilt timer awakes.  This depends on the way we were brought up in our homes.  Some people were brought up to be awake as early as 4:30 a.m. others could be 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. and some wakes between 9:00 a.m. and 12 p.m.

This inbuilt timer in us seizes to function because we now have aids at home and when the aid malfunctions we also default.  No wonder why we sometimes get to work late as a result of failure in our alarm clock.

THE END!

The Dawn of the Day and His Grace

Dr. Harmander Singh

The dawn of the night invites

The daylight the dawn of the day,

The sunrises with a beautiful sight

I was in sleep and became a dead tight,

When I woke up, the sun seemed hot,

I ran to shower and became cold and chilled

Leaving home to my to

The Work was the joy

Hotter than the sunlight

The sun was not hot

As I felt the day was

My beginning of the my rise

The hottest point of my day,

It is the sunshine of my day making

Juts helping the sun to leave the night

As the prayer makes the sunbath, whether it is

A night or a day for words makes it say.

Some Day You'll Understand

Conrad S. Cardinal

Each man from the moment of his birth,

has a score of things learn to during his

stay on earth.

Some lessons may be easy, some will

be hard.

None will overcome you, if you put your

trust in God.

I'll try to help try to help you learn about

life's tests and trials.

At times we'll be very close, other times

the void between us will seem like miles.

I remember when my dad tried to teach

me what he'd learned,

I looked at him and shook my head, very

unconcerned.

I wish that I had realized the wisdom behind

that bushy brow.

Instead of thinking, he's old fashioned, things

are different now.

I expect you too will think of me that way.

I suppose that's the price a father has to

pay.

When you do, I won't scold or caution you.

I'll just remember that when you grow up,

you'll be a father too.

Shadows Of The Night

Conrad S. Cardinal

Walking in the shadows of the night.

Afraid and alone, avoiding the light.

Carrying memories of things gone

wrong.

The nights are lonely and long.

No tears left, all cried out.

So full of anger, wanting to shout.

No one to hear.

No one to care.

The fate of those without spiritual

sight.

They who have refused to walk in

the light.

Dr. Singh.  Regarding your tender words, in "The Child And The Angel,"   I have good news for you.  Children who want to be like angels are closer than one might suppose. Jesus made this interesting observation in Luke chapter 20 verses 35 and 36. "Those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage and they can no longer die for they are like the angels. They are God's children since they are children of the resurrection." (From the New International Version of the Bible.)
