nigh. Luke 21:20 A Proud Look ... Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know
what he doeth? An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the
wicked, is sin. He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions
and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. For by
grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of
God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. A Lying Tongue ... I have not written unto you because ye know not the
truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. The anointing which ye have received of him abideth in
you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth
you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of
the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;)
after the commandments and doctrines of men? Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your
body, and in your spirit, which are God's; and be not ye the servants of men. Hands that Shed Innocent
Blood ... Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?
why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the
covenant of our fathers? Thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, thou hast
established them for correction: for wherein thou judgest another, thou
condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of
adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the
end that man should find nothing after him. He causeth it to come,
whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy. For thou, O Lord,
hast done as it pleased thee. For thou hast created all things, and for
thy pleasure they are and were created. Have hope toward God that there shall be a resurrection
of the dead, both of the just and unjust. For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we
should walk in them. And to make all men see what is the fellowship of
the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who
created all things by Jesus Christ. And that ye put on the new man, which
after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. For by him were
all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and
invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the
old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in
knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek
nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free:
but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,
bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing
one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:
even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put
on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God
rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye
thankful. A Heart that Deviseth
Wicked Imaginations ... Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one
that is desperate, which are as wind? Which imagine mischiefs in their heart;
continually are they gathered together for war. Deceit is in the heart of
them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. Let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your
heart. Feet that be Swift in
Running to Mischief ... The spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east
gate of the Lord's house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the
gate five and twenty men ... But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it
remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they
that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they
rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that
use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things
which I say? A False Witness that
Speaketh Lies ... The things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of
God. As the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that
put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and
sweet for bitter! When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they
shall hear my words; for they are sweet. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and
declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart
upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. He healeth
the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, knowledge is
pleasant unto thy soul. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them
about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart. The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise
steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their
portion of meat in due season? Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every
one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and, What hath the Lord
spoken? He that Soweth Discord
Among Brethren ... Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man
soweth, that shall he also reap. For the Hate the evil within yourself, love the good in others and, thereby, establish true judgment in the gate. Amos 5:15a (par.) The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and
arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. For I the
Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their
work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the Lord
thy God hateth. Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou
condemn him that is most just? The Lord trieth the righteous: but the
wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. And I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his
brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall
say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. He that receiveth
whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that
sent me. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had
not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin:
but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But
this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their
law, They hated me without a cause. © 2007 by Joyce C. Lock, KJV ~**~**~ Poetry
Corner ~**~**~ No More Hiding Cheryl Williams So it has come to this, bare bones, hearts open, raw and bleeding, nothing left to hide. How does it look and feel to see the real me, to know I'm not broken completely, only wounded from the fall? How does it feel to know I'm human, and not a goddess on the pedestal of your desire? I never was and never will be all that you perceive me to be. I never was as good or as noble or as honest or as beautiful as you imagined. I was your dream, your fantasy. The reality would never have satisfied you. Eventually I would have spilled my blood upon the ground before you, and drowned you in my tears of selfishness; But for awhile, I was your angel...bringing light into your dark world. Little did you realize that you were helping me keep my own demons at bay. This is who we are, and as we fall with a thud into the dust from which we came, we can remember how it was and what we were together Cheryl Williams politicalgirl04@aol.com Here is our Storytime
