About the Author

Author Mary Marlena Dees was born and raised in the southern hills of Adams County . At the age of 18 she ventured south to further her career as a beautician. Now at the age of 31, she resides in Wilmington Ohio with her two children and her husband, where she manages her own salon.

Marlena’s love for words were born when her mother encouraged her to read her early childhood journals. Inspired by her mother’s articulateness, Marlena began, at age thirteen, to record her own thoughts and feelings.   

Upon the tragic death of a close friend, Marlena’s writing took a more serious turn. She engrossed herself into written expressions which developed into a compilation of her evolvement. Much of her poetry identifies with her own trials and tribulations which she has encountered on her journey to finding happiness and contentment. 

Her love for her family, and her firm belief that all things are possible, continues to inspire her daily.
