Storytime Tapestry Newsletter The newsletter devoted to
spreading love and cultural awareness around the world. February 19, 2008 Today’s Announcement I just got the news a bit ago. My friend Keith, is in a battle. Heart is failing. Keith is one of those that has a little over the limit on weight, so his heart does get a bit of work out. He also is one of those guys, if you knew him, you got to like. He is one of the best friends I have in this town. If you got a minute please say a prayer for an old friend. He sure could use it at this time.

Dr.
Harmander Singh "Please do
not cry,” I requested him. "...,” he
kept on crying. "Please
accept life as it's,” I requested again. "What wrong
have I done?” he said and started crying. "Life is like
that.” I tried to console. "What do you
expect for me? Am I emotionless?” he stopped crying. "My Dear,
subjectively everyone is emotional but objectively there are few people who are
emotional,” I suggested without know what I was saying. "What do you
mean?” he asked me. "I mean for
our selves we're emotional when somebody hurts me I feeling it and cry or feel
it with great intensity but when I behave like a hard hearted person I do not
bother because it fulfils some of my desires which satisfy my emotions. Is not
it an irony of life?” I said with sentiments of sorrow. "You’re
right, but how long can I live with being nice to others when they respond what
seems hard hearted to me ?,” he questioned me.
"I can
understand you. Please try to live higher than being subjective and objective,”
I said. My Dear, I've
always tried what do you think?" I always tried to put my feet in other's
shoes to keep the harmony between subjective and objective side of emotions,”
he said and took a sigh. “...,” I always
sighed when he sighed because words have their meanings, which become silent
and speak only through sigh. Daily Moral Insight for a
Peaceful Night Is not a condition
of helplessness a great reality to be accepted? Is not it a great
venture to feel the same experience of emotions for others as we feeling for
ourselves? Is not it a
reality of life to accept the people and circumstances as they are? Sin' it a feeling
of consciousness when we sigh? Is not it a thought of
the wise ones to confine all sufferings of a human life to a sigh?
Dr. Harmander Singh ~**~**~ A President's Day Afterthought Cynthia
Groopman I am
very concerned and dismayed, Very little is said or mentioned about the great
impact upon our nation, our past presidents have made. . It
seems that history is no longer lauded or taught. Not
many of the younger generations even give the exciting story of our nation's
past a thought. As a
child, there were two special days to commemorate Lincoln and Washington and so
many interesting history about them we did learn, , Now
a long weekend, with sales and shopping, are what all seem to desire and yearn. I
praise the dedication and devotion of our past presidents and how our nation
they did lead, Their
advice, actions and deeds, we must honor, follow and heed. For
upon a firm foundation, our nation, they did place, Adversity,
wars, hard times and inner strife, with strength and optimism, they did teach
us to face. Thus,
all I can truly say, Is
to honor, respect, study about our presidents on this President's holiday day. Cynthia L. Groopman ~**~**~ Poetry Corner ~**~**~ I Am In The Mood For Laughter Cynthia

Feedback Dear Carol:
I am truly blessed. I have a cab driver who I can call (or his company) and he will pick me up at a scheduled time. He is also available for the return trip. I just call and wait for him. Over 10 years I have never waited more than 25 minutes. This is a city of over a million people and multiple cab companies. He is so special. He greets my husband, mother, daughter,or whoever rides in his cab with a smile. He is always willing to lug my groceries with or without my husband's help to the door.
Frankly, Carol, I don't know what I would do without him. The transit system here is complex with multiple connections just to go 1 mile. I have spent 3 hours going to a destination when by car it is a half hour drive.
My husband and I have never had a driver's license or a car.
Our transit system keeps getting worse because we are sprawling out. The roads, highways, and interstate are decades out of date.
I always thank him and tip and tip and tip!!! It isn't as expensive as where you live. Our average is about $10-$12 one way. At the most $20-22. I always give him $2 to $3 for a tip.
He shares his cab with another driver who also is simply amazing. There is nothing like the sense of security of seeing a face behind the wheel that you know you can trust.
PJ Dear Carol:
This is really a coincidence!!
I have just sent in a questionnaire for possible jury duty (Federal Court) in the Fall of 2008 to Spring 2009. I simply let them know I had health issues which would make jury duty a hardship for me. These are real and not "made up". I haven't heard anything more from them.
We have gangs here too. Worse, innocent bystanders have been shot and killed. One awful case was a young girl doing homework at her dining room table. The bullet came through the wall from outside and killed her.
I too fear gangs. The situation is getting out of control.
I have served on jury duty in the 1980's for my county. It was for a shop lifting case. The woman was fairly well off. She would use old receipts to return new merchandise.
I saw her in the parking lot. Carol, she was laughing like this was no big deal.
This is what gets me - she didn't care that she was caught or that 12 people had to give up their time at work and with their families to hear her case.
I was interviewed for a murder case but wasn't called. It was because of my religious beliefs. It was a relieve to not be called for exactly the reasons you stated.
PJ
