HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

Dr. Harmander Singh

"Today is Sunday,” Sunny said to Tony.

"I know,” he replied.

"It's a nice moonlight,” he said.

"Yes, it's,” he replied.

"See, we are good friends,” he said.

"Yes, we are,” he was not interested in the talk.

"This year has been wonderful. We both got good marks. Is not it?” he said with a smile.

"Yes, you are right;” he looked elsewhere.

"You look smart today,” he said.

"Thank you,” he did not bother.

"You're grown up now,” he said.

"Yes, it seems to be,” he said irrelevantly.

"Let's have a cup of tea,” he suggested.

"No, thanks,” he said.

"Let's have dinner together,” he again suggested.

"No, I am busy,” he replied without looking at him.

"I've cooked it myself. Is not it wonderful?” he was happy.

"Yes, it is wonderful,” he said without emotions.

"You seem lost.” He aimed at his heart.

"No, I am just thinking about next year,” he replied.

"Why?” he asked.

"Because, this year has almost gone,” he said.

"No, it will stay here tonight,” he said with a laugh.

"Why?” he asked.

"Because I've cooked food and prepared a cake for you,” he said and looked into his eyes.

"You...” he started to beat him with wordless affection.

"Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to you Dear Tony,” they forgot the world.

Daily Moral Insight for a Peaceful Night

Is not it a beautiful to give a surprise?

Is not the beauty of surprise that it has covered with the tender decoration of sensitive feelings?

Is not it nice experience to prepare something for birthday of a friend?

Is not it a pleasant experience to irritate a friend in a friendly mood and manner?

Is not it a unique experience to forget everything while being with our friend or friends?

WHAT COUNTRY’S CITIZENS ARE THE HAPPIEST?

Duane Bates

ABC’s 20/20 program aired a very interesting program on January 11th that sought to find the happiest country on earth.  The survey that answered the question was based on twenty years of questionnaires given to citizens by sociologists in 147 nations.

The very surprising answer is the Denmark; the nation with the highest tax rates in the world has the happiest people.  Danes can pay up to 63% of their income in taxes, but believe that they are getting good value for the money since they have universal health care and pension benefits.  The reported was able to find one Dane, an elderly woman who was in a wheel chair, that did not feel happy, but even she willingly admitted that she felt well cared for by her fellow Danes and was comforted by the social service system.

One result of the high tax rate in Denmark is that since the tax rate “levels” incomes to a great extent, people seek occupations that reflect their real interest.  They do not seek jobs that will maximize their income and social status and are not concerned with consuming.  A Prince of the royal Danish family works as a carpenter’s apprentice and seems quite content with his job.  Ninety two percent of Danes belong to a dancing, singing or other interest group.  The lack of ethnic diversity also plays a role; the population is over ninety percent people of Danish ancestry.  The Danes trust their government and each other, a fundamental requirement for stable and progressive society.

In Asia, the city-state of Singapore ranks as the happiest, but with a very different social structure.  Singapore has very strict laws, including a ban on gum chewing, that many people in Western democracies would not tolerate.  It also uses physical punishments, such as caning, on criminals and is a highly developed consumer economy.  It has been labeled a “nanny state” since it leaders attempt to control aspects of personal behaviors that we take as a basic right.  An American living in Singapore was very happy to be living and working there, willingly giving up rights that American enjoy in return for a very low crime rate and stable environment.  Singapore citizens also express a great confidence in their government and cite the low rate of official corruption.  Of the major reasons there is little official corruption is that government salaries are very high, some higher officials receiving million dollar salaries.

The US ranked twenty-third in happiness, with Asheville NC ranked as the happiest city in the US.  In Europe, Italy ranked as the unhappiest, with citizens expressing concern about the degree of official corruption, a theme that was repeated in many countries where the citizens are unhappy. A link to an article of the subject is posted below.

A Winter Without Snow

Cynthia Groopman

We thought that we would have a warm winter without any significant snow,

But it must snow in winter, as you already know.

Instead of snow, we were having rain,

We were happy and we certainly did not complain.

Then the snow began to heavily fall,

Blanketing all.

The gray sky did wore a doleful frown,

As huge mountains of snow whitened every town

.

The children were happy and exalting in a jocund way,

For finally they had the opportunity to use their sleigh.

Last Night

Cynthia Groopman

Last night, the moon was full of fun,

And all of the lively nocturnal creatures were at play and how quickly did they run.
Last night, how lively was the whistling breeze,
As they merrily tickled all of the treetop's green little leaves.
Last night, how eloquently did the wise old owl sing,
For he had a tale to impart and a message to bring.
Last night, how sweetly the stars did twinkle in a romantic way,
And romantic thoughts to the moon, they did convey.
Last night, nature was at its best,
Full of energy, charm and zest.
For this beautiful nighttime scene,

It was merely one of my most treasured and pleasant dreams.

The Sunshine Lady I Truly Am

 Cynthia Groopman

The sunshine lady, I truly am,

Brightening everyone's day, in whatever ways I can. Laughs and a smile,

Lessens the load of painful sorrow for quite a long while.

Singing a nostalgic song,

Eliminates the blues of a boring day so lonely and long.

When a person is ill,

I deliver sunshine and optimism, which is the best medication pill.

When somebody feels depressed and is sullen and down,

I give each of them a large gift,

My bag of sunshine removes the doleful clouds of frowns.,

Thus, being the sunshine lady, is a labor of love, I deeply cherish and enjoy,

By so doing, anxiety, stress and worry, I eradicate and destroy.

There are real .. the phobias, there are phobias to everything, I am terrified of being in the water, lake, ocean on a boat, drowning, and dentist.  A few years back I had to have my teeth pulled,  About 2 weeks before the pulling, I had a trivia question concerning phobias. I looked it up, and there are 100’s of phobias.  I looked up dentist one and it gave me some great tips and hints to think and say  when in that position of fear. I printed a lot out, studied them, gave my husband some to read to me and he did great.. I surprised myself and was a bit proud.   www.beyondfear.com     good luck   Janice finley  Arab
