As we are snowbound here in central Ohio as well as other places in the beginning of March, I thought I would share, once again, a story that I wrote sometime ago.  Read, enjoy and take this story to heart.   normie p.s. In fact, we have had blizzard conditions.  On another note, remember to set your clocks ahead.  Now onto my story.

Snowbound with a good book

 Norma Liles

There are hidden treasures within the pages of a good book.  It is like opening a door to a wealth of untold experiences be it comical, dramatizations, culture or otherwise.  It is just a most relaxing way to unwind.

I find myself entering a world of another time when thoughts were somewhat different than the way that we live now; becoming one of the characters be it clever or not.  Sometimes, I get so immersed in the book that I feel that I have lived there at one time in the wild beyond or in another life although I do not believe in re-incarnation

To me there is a healing of sorts to nestle down in a warm bed

with a cup of my favorite tea and allow the world to go bye without a thought for what might be going on outside my door.

In another capacity, a book is a wrapping of untold wealth of knowledge from someone who cared enough to give you the gift of insight into another time, culture or a viewpoint.

When the snow is on the rooftops and old man winter pays his cold cold visit, let it be known that I can be found enjoying a good book in my little castle on the hill; my little apartment.

 THE CORNER STONE"
                           by
                 Joyce L. Blume

Christ came down  from Heaven above
And became our precious, Corner Stone.
A turning point for man to take,
So they would not be on this earth, alone.

A right angle, is this corner stone,
So man could walk , in the righteous way.
Yes, a turning place from sin and strife,
And then they become the Children of Day!

Yes, Christ is our Precious, Corner Stone,
And our only sure, solid foundation,
His Holy Name is the one true way,
For man to find eternal salvation.

In the only name, The Lord Jesus Christ,
From the sin of unbelief, set captives free,
There is no other name under Heaven
But in His name, divided into three.

Each part of His name has a meaning
Like a plum line, stretched down from God's gate.
No wrinkles, twist, kinks or turning,
The rock, Christ Jesus at the end held it straight.

His first name was Lord, meaning Master, Creator
His earthly minister was under this name.
He did healings, miracles, and wonders.
To draw God's lost people was the reason He came.

Men were seekers after signs and wonders
To prove He was who he claimed to be.
They would not accept Him at His word,
They demanded something they could see!

By his middle name, He is called Jesus,
Meaning , Saviour of all man kind
Dying on the cross, shedding His blood,
Saying, "it is finished" at the end of the line.

His last name is Christ, life eternal.
This brought him up, out of the grave.
Without this part of his name,
It's impossible for man to be saved.

He now sits at the right hand of the Father
As mediator, intercessor for all,
Who pray in the name of, The Lord Jesus Christ,
God forgives, if in His son's name, we do call

Yes, He is the only way to salvation,
Won't you believe on Him, alone,
Stop, make a turn, follow the Plumline
For, The Lord Jesus Christ is the Precious Corner Stone!

Isaiah 28:16 "Therefore thus saith the Lord God,
Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried
stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation he
that believeth shall not make haste."

"MY GRANDMOTHER"
                                   by
                        Joyce L. Blume

Within my heart she sits upon a throne,
There, upon her silver head I place a crown.
She is the greatest lady I have ever known,
If the world was searched no other could be found.

Yes, a crown of jewels so rightly she deserves,
And I add a star for every deed of love.
To me she shines as brightly as the noonday sun
And glitters as the Heavens, far above.

Upon her shoulders, I drape a golden, velvet cloak,
To represent the softness of her loving touch.
Nothing but the purest diamonds do I place,
On each lovely hand that time has worn so much!

Each tear shed, I string as pearls upon her breast,
A reward for all good things in life, she's done.
In the center one as large as her heart itself,
And I'm sure each sparkle in her smile, she won.

For her, a palace in my heart the years have built,
And in this palace there shall never live another.
Queen of Queens to me she'll be forever,
This great and lovely lady, My Grandmother.
                    ****************
To my Grandmother Lefler, whom I love so much,
on Grandmothers Day--Oct 9, 1960.

The most precious gift I had was the privilege of
sharing with my granny, the gift of God, His Son,
Jesus Christ. Now that she has gone on to be with
Him, I know she is truly wearing a crown of many
jewels and a robe of His righteousness. The gifts
of my heart are small compared with the gift of
Eternal Life that she now has.

San Antonio Texas. At the request of the
Governor of Texas, )

"SLEEP"

                   Joyce L. Blume

I sleep in the arms of my Father, God!
All the night through, He holds me there.
I'm protected from the things of the night,
When I'm fast asleep, I'm in His care.

He prepares me a place in His Dreamland,

Yes, a safe place where I can go.
A place to rest from worldly cares,
An escape from life's troublesome foe!

Sweet, peaceful sleep, a safe getaway,
To renew and refresh my mind, body and soul.
Oh, to be held and protected in my Father's arms
To be safe, as time continues to roll.

Then to awake at the dawn of light,
Refreshed at the break of a new day.
To be guided by His strong, gentle hand,
As He leads me along, His wonderful way.

Yes, My Father God, made sleep for all men.
An escape, a place of peace, a getaway!
So as we journey through this earthly life,
We can rest in His arms, at the end of day.
