 On Eagles' Wings

 Joyce  C. Lock

If my people ...

Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

which are called by my name ...

You are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption.

shall humble yourselves ...

Walk humbly with thy God.

and pray ...

After this manner, pray daily, as oft as you find occasion: My Father, I come to thy throne, to Hallow thy name; to let you sit upon the throne of my heart.  Give me instruction for this circumstance and I will do thy will.  Wash my slate clean, as I have forgiven those who have failed me.  And make known, to me, the path that will defeat evil's hindrance: as the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, comes only from you. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13 (par.)

and seek my face ...

We know in part, and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Who is faithful in all mine house, with him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold ... face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

and turn from your wicked ways ...

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you.  Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts.

Turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and honour him, do not thine own ways, nor find thine own pleasure, nor speak thine own words.  Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.  And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive your sin, and will heal your land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

They that wait upon the Lord

shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run, and not be weary;

and they shall walk, and not faint.

Therefore turn thou to thy God:

keep mercy and judgment,

and wait on thy God continually

Poetry Corner

I wrote a poem today and cried when I wrote it...I have to stop writing poems that make me cry.

Here it is; actually dad died before mother did and he did not give her an amulet but it rhymed.

He gave her a wedding band at the age of 17.  There was five years difference in their ages.  They eloped on the way to church...dad sold my grandfather a pig for five dollars to buy the wedding license..my grandfather never forgave my father.  Dad provided well for us and if he had lived until December of nineteen and ninety five they would have been married sixty years.  There was five years difference in their ages and five years difference in their deaths

Down By the Honey Tree

Janice Bumbalough Marler

There stood a tree along the brook,

Its limbs spread far and wide

It was the tree where two lovers met

At evening time;

Two whose hearts beat as one,

Pledged their love for all eternity

And prayed for guidance from above,

Down by the ‘honey’ tree

He had loved her from the first day they met,

She revered him;

As a token of his love,

He placed around her neck,

An antique amulet,

That had belonged to his grandmother,

He, on bended knee,

Pledged his love for all eternity,

And prayed for guidance from above,

Down by the ‘honey’ tree.

Their love abounded over the years

And they never forgot the ‘honey tree’,

The amulet lay, wrapped in tissue,

And when she passed away,

He placed it upon her neck;

They had pledged their love for eternity,

And had prayed for guidance from above,

Down by the ‘honey tree’.

 I Wish For You

 Janice Bumbalough Marler

I wish you blue birds on a summer day

I wish you rainbows after the rain,

I wish you happiness when life goes astray,

I wish you happiness instead of pain,

I wish you sunshine when clouds are gray,

I wish for you fragrant flowers that bloom in May

I wish for you beautiful relationships that never end,

I wish for you abundant joy that can be shared

 With a loved one or a friend

 But above all I wish for you love

That endures until the end of time.
