Today’s Announcement
Call
for submissions: Storytime Tapestry is
in need of more stories, please keep them coming in.
Help
support the continued running of Storytime Tapestry join me on mylot and get
paid while we talk to each other and others all over the world: http://www.mylot.com/?ref=winterose if the link doesn’t work just cut and paste
From my son Steven Roach:
I was thinking you should
advertise the link regularly in your newsletter
http://greenhorse.com/join_now.ghc?r=177952857
tell them it
would help support the newsletter and they can earn money from it. They need to
sign up and install it but they don't need to do anything else. They just do
what they normally would anyways on the net and they earn money while it’s on.
In other words they just keep it running while they are online. It’s small
doesn't take up much system resources and they can earn more if they advertise
their own link and get people under them as well. Let them know some people
make 5-10$ a day on it and its been open since 2002.
Happy
Birthday greetings for Roger Emerson: remerson@sc.rr.com
Prayer Request: Dear
friends,
You may have noticed that my correspondence with each of you
has diminished to some extent and I have good reason. 1. My daughter has
a virus akin to mono which is not contagious but robs her of a lot of her
strength. 2. She had her thyroid removed one year ago and her synthroid
medication which she will take the rest of her life has been adjusted so
that, also, has been very tiring. 3. She is just now getting better of
having bronchitis 4. She is taking her nurses' masters online and working full
time. 5. My son in law had shoulder surgery recently. 6. I
have been the main cog in the wheel and at my age, I move slower but
successfully and am very thankful that God has given me the strength to persue
the needs of this family.
Naturally, it goes without saying that your prayers will be
most appreciated and bear with me if you do not hear from me often. My
daughter and son in law are very protective of me and do not allow me to
overdue so that is a huge plus. Please pray for their bodies to become
healthier and that God will continue to strengthen me to fulfill the needed
obligations. Your friend in Christ, Normie: hoopla214@yahoo.com

Offering of Love
Clara Wersterfer
cbwest@webtv.net
Yesterday I received an offering of love. It was left on the porch where it could
not be missed when the door was opened. The beautiful young, little squirrel
was lying in a fetal position, totally intact. No blood or visible signs of
injury.
Two of my outside cats were sitting like statues on either side, awaiting my
praise.
They were proud as peacocks; both tails swishing and a look of contentment on
their little faces. "See what we brought you to show our love. We tried
for a bird, but it
was too small."
My love/hate relationship with cats came to the forefront. Tears welled in my
eyes
and a lump arose in my throat. I wanted to lash out at the both of them, no
matter how
sweet they looked. The urge to yell at them was choking me.
It was an absolutely senseless killing as are most of the killings done
by my cats. Seldom are the birds or squirrels eaten, not even a nibble. They do
not kill for food, but rather as a trophy or gift of love to me. Believe me
they are very well fed twice daily and given treats in between as evidenced by
their rotund little bodies. I understand cats have a primal instinct to hunt.
Cats can and do survive without the aid of humans by hunting birds and small
game, but why must they kill when they are so well fed?
I determined the little squirrel was indeed dead before removing it. The cats
received no praise from me, not even a glance. I wrestled with my anger and did
not scream or yell at them as I wanted to do. I cannot keep, nor do I want,
more cats inside my house than the three who have taken over my home. The
others must stay outside, thus having access to birds, squirrels and rabbits.
Most are too old to find homes elsewhere.
I pet, brush and trim the nails of my kitties. Give them special little
treats and lots of love. Perhaps that is where I go wrong. They love me in
return and want to show it by
bringing me gifts. I just wish they would love me a little less often.

Tones
Cynthia Groopman
Many tones echo in my ear,
And in mirthful song, they dance with gladness
and cheer.
Onto my face, these tones put a sunny smile,
As their melodic radiance lingers for a while.
Like a beautiful charming day in spring,
Happy tones dance in my heart as the
chiming bell of sweetness jubilantly rings.
Then, suddenly, like a fierce lion's roar,
Wrathful tones begin to incessantly knock at my
life's door.
Sadness and tragedy they bring,
And no longer do hearts sing.
Oh, please dear tones, always be optimistic and
strong,
And chant a wonderful joyful song.

Little Things
Cynthia Groopman
Oh, how blessed are the cherished gifts of little things,
Inspiring my heart to dance and my soul to sing.
Little things mean so very much,
Crowning life with a splendid loving touch.
A helping hand in times of need and sorrow,
Are little things but mean so much for stability to cope for
tomorrow?
A warm soft embrace
Adds warm bright smiles to a once frowning face
.
A kind word of praise,
Lifts spirits in mirthful ways.
A phone call soothes a weary and tearful heart,
Causes feelings of isolation and despair to forever vanish
and depart.
Little things are indeed so precious and so rare,
Spreading the ointment of love and are indeed answers to prayer.

Waves Are We
Cynthia Groopman
Waves
are we,
Bouncing
upon the vast blue ocean sprightly.
We
are not alone or full of fear,
For
the Master of the Universe is near.
All
woven into the tapestry of different hues and shades are we,
As we
rejoice merrily.
With
Divine love and caring, the tapestry of love was made,
Thus,
smiles of mirth dance and no longer are we dismayed.
