From my son Steven Roach:

I was thinking you should advertise the link regularly in your newsletter if the link doesn’t work just cut and paste

http://greenhorse.com/join_now.ghc?r=177952857

tell them it would help support the newsletter and they can earn money from it. They need to sign up and install it but they don't need to do anything else. They just do what they normally would anyways on the net and they earn money while it’s on. In other words they just keep it running while they are online. It’s small doesn't take up much system resources and they can earn more if they advertise their own link and get people under them as well. Let them know some people make 5-10$ a day on it and its been open since 2002.

Happy Birthday greetings for Roger Emerson:

Storytime Tapestry needs more stories, please write them and send them on, if you want to continue having a daily e-zine.

Don’t forget to order your copy of Angels Watching Over Me, the story of an ordinary woman facing less than ordinary challenges.  Angels Watching Over Me is a story of family love, sacrifices, poverty and an undying faith that makes heroes out of all of us. Here is the link in case you have forgotten it: http://www.lulu.com/content/964306

Important notice: Storytime Tapestry is a free e-zine, however donations are always needed to help with the operating expenses of running the newsletter and to keep Storytime Tapestry the quality newsletter you are so accustomed to.   You can make your donations to paypal at: winterose@videotron.ca, or if you would prefer to use the mail system contact the publisher at the same email address: winterose@videotron.ca

 A Foul Deed
by Clara Wersterfer

Today I took a life. It wasn't as if she hadn't been warned. I told her to stay out of my car. It was my personal property and she was trespassing. I also told her she was endangering others, but she would not listen.

The following day, I got in the car and saw no evidence that she had been there, and felt
safe. The very first traffic light I stopped for, here she comes, dropping down directly in front of my face, a big, black, hairy spider. I lowered the window and tried to push her out, she turned and jumped on me! That's when I grabbed a tissue from the box and squashed her.

Just as I placed the tissue in my litterbag, the light changed to green. I sped away from the murder scene.

After several blocks remorse crept in. When you act in haste, you repent at leisure.
At first it was just a feeling of guilt, then I started feeling compassion for my victim. My mind said, "You knew she wasn't a black widow, no red spot on her back. She was black, so she wasn't a brown recluse. She probably wasn't poisonous.

"What had I done? Surely I could have gotten her out the window. Why did I have to act so quickly and smush her?

She could have made a web to trap mosquitoes that could have carried the deadly heartworm to an animal or even worse, such as several bad viruses to humans.

It was too late. The foul deed had been committed. There was no turning back.

To whom should I confess? No judge or jury would believe it was self-defense. There's nothing left to do that would help. I expect it will have to remain my secret.

You won't tell, will you?

 The Cost Of War

Tim Kevin
-
T'will only cost 50 billion to find WMD's
And send a few thousand boys overseas
It was all over they celebrated and said
Of course t'was long before our 4000 dead
-
And now, seems they changed the story
Our people now sacrificed in doubtful glory
To bring democracy to this feudal land
But nothin' said about that oil below the sand
-
How much longer will troops be forced to stay
Chained to this stupid insanity and winless fray
Someone is paying the terrible cost I fear
Alone and silently, with a mother's tear

~**~**~ Senior Serenade"
Tim Kevin
I'm not trying to be condescending
But please let us not be pretending
The young an their music drive me crazy,
An often so does watching them be so lazy
-
But that's my problem and not yours,
Seems like their lives maybe on detours
Tis their right, as it's mine, to sell my soul
Seems everyone has some different goal
-
Well it appears I haven't lost my marbles yet,
Though some may be outside the circle I bet
But it sure doesn't make me older than I am
Or not yet too feeble minded or slow in a jam
-
Shall we grow gracefully old at our own pace.
Your heart's strong, we can still make it race
Don't roll those lovely eyes an heave a sigh
Just whisper, takin' it easy with me you'll try
-
I know your intentions are always true
An you know my kisses are just for you
Can you slow down, walk to match my gait
I love ya darlin' but you're no longer jail bait
-
And if I should I lean just a little bit on you,
Don't think it may be cuz I'm turning blue
But I hope that my weight is like a feather
So feel free to put me under your tether
-
If I take your hand, please embrace me,
For it's the only way that we may see
That I'm not in reality just one big lug
But a lovable guy just lookin' for a hug.
-
And it's fine to give me a little squeeze,
Cuz I know you love being such a tease
I promise not to break and just feel loved.
An I want you to know I won't feel shoved
-
With desire and a love that we'll know
Both sure in where our hearts shall go
Happy that our paths have crossed,
To be together forever in an eternity lost
