Dr. Harmander Singh

“You are a silly person. Nowadays, such morals are in the books to read, you may claim that you have honored Australia and your home country, but the opposite may happen. Anyway, did not you find the alternatives?” he says.

“Yaw, I tried my best, but the help was available on the conditions,” I say.

“What is it, the conditions?” he asks.

“Yaw, some people offered financial help on the condition that I should support the anti-human movement such that people living in the religious places as the VIP’s and on honorable positions deserve the higher status than the congregation as usually appears when such people visit and live at the religious place as if a VIP. They seem sacrificing the sense of equality present among the people in the congregation and humanity in general,” I say.

“Well, you see I would not prefer to sacrifice my personal life for such conditions. I feel you should have approached the authorities,” he says.

“You are right. You see all of the known people suggested and supported it. One of the African students with the same problem got the PR after applying,” I say.

“Wow, it is good point, did other students studying with you got scholarships?” he asks.

“Yaw, all of them got it,” I reply.

“I wonder; was there any other argument that you did not apply?” he asks.

“The argument and the logic was that if I get the PR, there may be thousands of other cases, which may use the same plea, creating troubles for the department of immigration,” I say.

“So, you agreed,” he says.

“Yaw,” I say.

“You know, you are more than a silly, is not it, so timid,” he says.

“Timid, no, I do not agree. You see if I obeyed the authorities, it does not mean that I had evil thoughts making me afraid of applying. The feelings of the reverence are not timidity,” I say.

“Well, you did not went for your cause, you followed your emotions and vales, is not it,” he says.

He gave me sympathetic look, and I could understand that at times the cultural difference create problems, I just smile. He did not smile.
