tell them it would help support the newsletter and they can earn money from it. They need to sign up and install it but they don't need to do anything else. They just do what they normally would anyways on the net and they earn money while it’s on. In other words they just keep it running while they are online. It’s small doesn't take up much system resources and they can earn more if they advertise their own link and get people under them as well. Let them know some people make 5-10$ a day on it and its been open since 2002.

Don’t forget to order your copy of Angels Watching Over Me, the story of an ordinary woman facing less than ordinary challenges.  Angels Watching Over Me is a story of family love, sacrifices, poverty and an undying faith that makes heroes out of all of us. Here is the link in case you have forgotten it: http://www.lulu.com/content/964306

Important notice: Storytime Tapestry is a free e-zine, however donations are always needed to help with the operating expenses of running the newsletter and to keep Storytime Tapestry the quality newsletter you are so accustomed to.   You can make your donations to paypal at: winterose@videotron.ca, or if you would prefer to use the mail system contact the publisher at the same email address: winterose@videotron.ca

Today’s Story

The Battle between Faith and Fear

By Janet Perez Eckles

Recession, depression and dejection—the three words that plant fear in our thoughts. Why? Maybe because we let it happen. Without realizing it, we hop on the roller coaster of events. When the Dow is down, our mood flops to the floor. Should the price of our house go up, hope is revived. Gloomy war updates and our day turns dark. Politicians make promises and we entertain hope. Finding out later that their assertions were false, we droop with disappointment.

Why do our lives have to be dictated by events, economic status, market fluctuation or even wars that have marked history from the beginning?

The answer is simple. We fear the unknown. Crazy isn’t it? Dreading the effects of something that may never happen or pondering on details that have no ground, we sweat over the possible outcome of things that haven’t yet taken place.

So, what to do? I suggest boldly enter into the battle between faith and fear. Recognize both sides:

Fear:

  • Fosters pessimism
  • Embraces worry
  • Adds to stress
  • Robs our peace

Faith:

  • Hinges on hope and fuels courage
  • Acknowledges the truth
  • Increases confidence
  • Trusts the best will happen

Here are the elements to equip you for battle: Make your plans and do your best for today—work diligently, exert your best character, display your richest talents, and above all, draw wisdom from God to make sound choices.

Following those solid decisions, victory is yours. With triumphant reassurance, you can refuse to be tossed by the wave of the world’s events. Instead, lifting the flag of conquest, you can focus on the wealth of the moment, shedding worry, resting on confidence, and expecting good things to happen.

Because… today’s faith in God blots out fear of the world’s tomorrows.

 What Prayer Can Do
Cynthia Groopman

Have you ever stopped to think what prayer can do,

And what majestically healing powers it has for both me and for you.
A sense of tranquility and well being,
Prayer does instill in a weeping anxious heart,

As only comforting words from the Lord He will lovingly impart.
When our life's sky is sullen and clad with clouds of gray,
Prayer can brighten and enliven a sad day.
When we may feel as though we are at the end of our emotional rope,
A prayer can bathe our weary souls with the reassuring promise of eternal hope.
When we are listlessly sitting around with nothing to do or to say,
A prayer can add zest, energy, enthusiasm to a boring day.
When we are ill, despondent or ravaging with pain,
Prayer spreads the ointment of love and recovery,
So that we feel whole and renewed again.

When we stray from the righteous path of life's complicated and winding road,
A prayer will ease our apprehension and lighten our load.
When we seem to lose our way,
Prayer will prevent us from backsliding and being lead astray.
For prayer does wonders for all of us, as you can plainly see,
Giving us strength, faith, courage and vitality.
