From my son Steven Roach:
I was thinking you should
advertise the link regularly in your newsletter if the link doesn’t
work just cut and paste
http://greenhorse.com/join_now.ghc?r=177952857
tell them it
would help support the newsletter and they can earn money from it. They need to
sign up and install it but they don't need to do anything else. They just do
what they normally would anyways on the net and they earn money while it’s on.
In other words they just keep it running while they are online. It’s small
doesn't take up much system resources and they can earn more if they advertise
their own link and get people under them as well. Let them know some people
make 5-10$ a day on it and its been open since 2002.
Don’t forget to order your copy of Angels
Watching Over Me, the story of an ordinary woman facing less than ordinary
challenges. Angels Watching Over Me is
a story of family love, sacrifices, poverty and an undying faith that makes
heroes out of all of us. Here is the link in case you have forgotten it: http://www.lulu.com/content/964306
Important notice: Storytime Tapestry is a free e-zine, however donations
are always needed to help with the operating expenses of running the newsletter
and to keep Storytime Tapestry the quality newsletter you are so accustomed
to. You can make your donations to
paypal at: winterose@videotron.ca, or if you would prefer to use the mail
system contact the publisher at the same email address: winterose@videotron.ca

A Man
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com
I see by the
news. a man died. A man who was a member of "the few, the proud, the
United States Marines." Now I think the words, "the few,
the proud," is as it should be, for all of our military people.
Seems to me there is so few, that are brave enough to stand up in time of
need. I have long been in the thinking of if we need to go back to the
days of the draft card. I was asked the other day for something to show
who I was. I was going through my cards and stuff, came across a
well-worn card. My old card, draft card. I have had that old card
every since I came home from Korea, in 1954. The person that was doing the
asking said something about it. I said, “lady, let me tell you something. I served my time, but,
and I know I am way past being called again, but I would be right proud to
grab a gun one more time if need be, in defense of this land.“
Now this man, a
man of now only 22 died after a 2-year fight to live. This man came
home a basket case one might say. Burns over 97% of his body. He was at
the best of hospitals for his care. Brook Army Medical, in San Antonio, Texas.
He never gave up, after all he was a United States Marine. I guess the
good Lord God, figured he had suffered enough, and took him home. 97% burns
is, well no one lives through such an ordeal, but don't forget this man was
one of the few, the proud, a United States Marine, one who never gives
up. That is not till God says.. OK son come home.
The former
turret gunner was dubbed the "Miracle Man" for his determination in
facing his wounds, which cost the former saxophone player his fingers and rippled
his face with scars. He endured more than 40 surgeries, spent 17 months in a
hospital and had to learn to walk again.
Meanwhile, he
started a charity, Merlin's Miracles, to aid child burn victims and
considered college and a career.
Sgt Merlin German, may have lost his battle, but did he lose
the war? His charity may live for a long, long time.

The Wheel Of Life
Cynthia Groopman
Come with me,
And watch the wheel
of life turn rhythmically.
Never stopping for a
needed rest.
It spins with energy
and zest.
Throughout life's
many years,
Its wheel turns laden
with smiles, surprises, sorrows and tears.
Oh, come with me and
watch the wheel of life rapidly turn,
Revealing mysteries
that are far too complicated for us to fathom and to discern.
Life's seasons race
by,
So quickly with the
blink of an eye.
For all is in a
constant state of change,
Much to our regret,
all seem strange.
All of us grow older,
While the timid
become bolder.
Curtains ascend and
descend as people exit and enter life's exciting stage,
And wars begin as
fiercely as a lion let loose from his cage.
In many different
directions,
Causing many
recollections,
Continuously the
wheel of life rotates round and round,
And in every turn,
confusion, uncertainty,
Doubt and even a glimmer of hope can be found.
For God is the only
one who can steady and guide the spinning of the wheel,
And our hurts,
disappointments and despair he can heal
