Pamela Blaine:  pamyblaine@blaines.us

Hi Carol: I hope you and all the readers of Storytime Tapestry are doing ok? I have been very busy with kids activities, school, and my writing projects, of course.

The weather is good now. We are in the upper 25 C and the sun is shinning.

I want to invite you and your readers to go to my Christian website, Time with Tannia, and check out the rules for "Your Chance to Interview Me".  I will be collecting questions from authors and readers wanting to interview me. I will be post the answer during the month of August.  So please don't miss out this wonderful opportunity.

I miss you all but never forgot you.

God bless you and keep writing!

Help support the continued running of Storytime Tapestry join me on mylot and get paid while we talk to each other and others all over the world:  http://www.mylot.com/?ref=winterose  if the link doesn’t work just cut and paste

From my son Steven Roach:

I was thinking you should advertise the link regularly in your newsletter if the link doesn’t work just cut and paste

http://greenhorse.com/join_now.ghc?r=177952857

tell them it would help support the newsletter and they can earn money from it. They need to sign up and install it but they don't need to do anything else. They just do what they normally would anyways on the net and they earn money while it’s on. In other words they just keep it running while they are online. It’s small doesn't take up much system resources and they can earn more if they advertise their own link and get people under them as well. Let them know some people make 5-10$ a day on it and its been open since 2002.

Don’t forget to order your copy of Angels Watching Over Me, the story of an ordinary woman facing less than ordinary challenges.  Angels Watching Over Me is a story of family love, sacrifices, poverty and an undying faith that makes heroes out of all of us. Here is the link in case you have forgotten it: http://www.lulu.com/content/964306

Important notice: Storytime Tapestry is a free e-zine, however donations are always needed to help with the operating expenses of running the newsletter and to keep Storytime Tapestry the quality newsletter you are so accustomed to.   You can make your donations to paypal at: winterose@videotron.ca, or if you would prefer to use the mail system contact the publisher at the same email address: winterose@videotron.ca

Today’s Story

  911. Better Known as Dial-A-Prayer
Bill Walker
missourisage@yahoo.com

OK I know I have many hopping mad, that is just fine with me. The
idea of 911 is just like many brain storms some people in power have.
The idea might have been good in the thinking stage, but does it
work? In a fashion it may work, but at how many lives does it
cost?

It is like an old fellow I used to work with on the ambulance said. "
Emergency, most people don't know the meaning of it let along how to
spell it." Now lets get an understanding here. What he meant was,
there are many calls that isn't really an emergency, but people makes
emergency out of them. Then you do have the ones that is a true
emergency.

911 is wonderful in cases where you are a stranger in where ever, and
you need help. That is if you don't mind talking to some one that
just might need to know your life history. You have some one with say
heart problems. Your going to get the questions of have you done
this, are you doing this, have they talked to you, are they breathing,
or have they turned green yet?

All of this question and answers do take time,, then  if we think you
need help call what ever office and tell them to send help.  In all
this, time is rolling by at a fast clip. A true heart attack, every
minute counts. Time is very important

This same goes if you need a fire truck, a cop, or what every.

Again what is an emergency to one is not to some one else. But in any
case, kick some unit on the road, and let them sort it out when they get
there. I think it is fair to say, I do not like Dial-A- Prayer.

911 was a great idea, but it is like a lot of great ideas. There
are times it works, there are many times it sure falls short.

 The Storm

Conrad S. Cardinal

A storm is coming, the wind has
begun to blow.
There’s a feeling in the air that
lets me know.

I can smell the rain, as the clouds
begin to form.
It brings a refreshing feeling, I
welcome the storm.

The silence of the leaves as they
float down calms me.
The movement of the flowers in
the wind is beautiful to see.

The wonder of it all is magical
to behold.
I'm overwhelmed, it’s power so
bold.

I feel cleansed by the rain.
Healed of all pain.

My heart is young and free.
I feel like the man I want to
be.

Carol,
You are right my friend.  I have been blessed with a lot of
wonderful neighbors.  I count you among them even though
we live hundreds of miles apart.  Thanks to the internet every
computer screen is a back yard to talk to your neighbors on.
Thanks for always sharing my writings so quickly.  God bless
you always.  Wishing you every joy, Joe

Hart,
This was such a great column today my friend.
Too many people today see Muslims only through the eyes
of anger and hatred.  Hopefully this will begin to help some
see the difference between the terrorists and the mainstream
muslim believers.  Keep up the good work.  Wishing you every joy, Joe

Thank you Hartson Dowd for your discussion of Islam….  Like many,  I have had a great ignorance of this religion and certainly prejudices have formed based on the horrific acts of extremists.  The causes and roots of extremism could make a book of required reading for all.  Now if we could just find some solutions.

                                                                                 Louise

Here is our Storytime Tapestry Angels: Also, I would like to thank those of you who chose to be a silent angel and gave an anonymous donation to keep Storytime Tapestry up and running.
