So Long Bobby

So long Bobby the sign said. That was 40 years ago, some one
stood and watched the train go by. He was holding the sign with the
words "SO LONG BOBBY."

America was robbed once again by some crazy fool with a gun. I have
lived long enough to have seen this happen twice, plus other attempts on
peoples lives that was something to go with government. The first
time I was too young to remember, but a nut came out of the woodwork,
and tried to kill F.D.R. before he took office. This time another man
died because some lady hit the nuts hand as he fired the shot.

I often wonder if Bobby would have lived and had won the election, if
and how things might have worked better for the country. This we will
never know, as some nut came out of the woodwork and took away one
person's life in a flash.

Some says these crazy acts rewrites history, I don't think so myself. You see the acts become history, there is no rewriting history in these cases. People will do strange things in telling history, that is what might be called rewriting something that did take
place.

In 1963 J.F.K. was killed by a crazy, known or unknown,, we here will
never know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
America was robbed at that time, we will never know many things that
Kennedy might have done. People says many things might have never
taken place, one was the Nam war, at least a damper put on it, we just
don't know.

There was other attempts on Presidents before and after Kennedy. all by
people that came out of the woodwork. Crazy nuts if you will.
People that did the acts for some stupid reason. One such was that
fool that was starved for love of a woman that didn't even know he
lived. Just a case of a stupid nut that came out of the woodwork
somewhere.

A stupid nut, that takes your vote, my vote and every one else vote
worthless. His vote is the only one that counts, he gets his hand on a
gun and votes.

Yes I remember the day Bobby was killed, I remember the day his
brother was gunned down. I don't care if you liked either one.
America was robbed as sure as any thing.

J.F.K. said just days before Dallas.. Anyone can kill a president..
Even with all the safe guards,, there is always that chance.

Someone with a gun can show up somewhere, somehow, and make their vote
count, while everyone else's vote don't count.

Yes we said, "So Long Bobby," 40 years ago. I would guess it might
be said some day again for someone else. Just a name change is all that
will be needed.
