The newsletter devoted to spreading love and cultural awareness around the world.

Carol’s Corner

September 2, 2008

I have decided to post some of my old stories so that new members may enjoy them and old members can reread them as they wish.

Since they are old stories, I will post just an excerpt and ask that you follow the link to read the rest of the story.  I hope this method of posting older stories will not deter anyone from reading them.  I am starting to publish them on Associated Content.  The only way I will get paid is if my loyal friends will support me just by going to site to read them.  I will not get much money for them, but with my tight financial situation everything helps.

I thank you in advance for helping me out while you still get to read a wonderful story from me - one of your favourite writers and friends. Think of it as your way to help Storytime Tapestry and keep it up and running.

P.S.  I you could add a comment even just to say good work, or I like your story, I will know that you were there.

About the story:

Go-go boots and Fishnet Stocking chronicle my life growing up through the examination of my shoes.

Excerpt from the story:

Ever since I could remember, I always wanted to be older than I was. I can tell you that now at 51, I no longer want to be older than I am. Nevertheless, as a child, I always wanted to be. I never felt like a child while growing up in my grandmother's house. I never had many kids my own age to play with so I gravitated towards adults. Also, as a young child I was privy to conversations that, let us say, were not age appropriate.

Adults always found me wise beyond my years. Yet, children who were my own age never much played with me. Therefore, whenever I could, I found older children who enjoyed being around me. All these factors contributed to my desire to be older.
