Carol’s Corner

I have decided to post some of my old stories so that new members may enjoy them and old members can reread them as they wish.

Since they are old stories, I will post just an excerpt and ask that you follow the link to read the rest of the story.  I hope this method of posting older stories will not deter anyone from reading them.  I am starting to publish them on Associated Content.  The only way I will get paid is if my loyal friends will support me just by going to site to read them.  I will not get much money for them, but with my tight financial situation everything helps.

I thank you in advance for helping me out while you still get to read a wonderful story from me - one of your favourite writers and friends. Think of it as your way to help Storytime Tapestry and keep it up and running.

P.S.  I you could add a comment even just to say good work, or I like your story, I will know that you were there.

About the story:

I am sure many of us have our own Friday the 13th bad luck stories, here is mine.

Excerpt from the story:

All through my formative years I had been sheltered. I did not see many people as I was cooped up in the house with a grandmother that never left the house. Visitors did come by, but they were mostly of her age. I was in the presence of very few youngsters and therefore did not learn how to socialize with children of my own age. The furthest away from home I got was to play downstairs it the back yard with my cousin and the next door neighbor's kids; otherwise I was confined to the back balcony to play alone with my dogs.

Going to school for the first time was a very traumatic experience for me. I did not know how to play with children. Johnnie and Jackie, the twins from next door, went to a different school. On the other hand, Renata, my only other friend at the time, went to my school but she was in a different class. That did not help me, a girl that did not know how to befriend anyone and was systematically alienated from her peers.
